KPop fans tend to be insane sjws or whales with no chance of marrying. They are also often addicted to shitty K dramas so they develop delusions of marrying a Korean and thinking their life will be what they see on TV when in reality it will be much worse.
If I had to hazard a guess, it may be due in part to the societal perception of women being delicate and harmless, so they think they can just do whatever they like towards men and get away with it. A lot of people think that women can't actually hurt men because they're generally physically weaker, so insane women will assume they're not actually doing any harm when they lash out like that, and assume people will take pity on them and give them what they want when they have temper tantrums.

I don't really have much for anecdotal evidence, but I think host clubs do much worse to people. Maid cafes tend to be very "closed off" between the waitress and the customer- it's considered bad form to flirt or ask for personal details or whatever. Much more parasocial relationship-y.
Host clubs on the other hand, holy fuck, I think you have to be a genuine sociopath to be a "host." The entire job basically involves you manipulating lonely rich women into spending tons of money and time inside and outside of the club to simulate a half-assed romantic relationship.

I think that America, despite what the left says generally treats immigrants very well, even more so mixed race people. At least that's what I've experienced when I lived there. What I think happens is that those kids get raised pretty much like a regular American but then they encounter millenial and Gen Z culture which glorifies immigrants and minorities, especially Japan which is very popular amongst normies and weebs alike. So despite knowing nothing about their roots, they found out that by acting like they know a lot about and can represent Japan they suddenly skyrocket in popularity. Everybody pays more attention to them and wants to spend more time with them because they seem to know a lot about that anime capital public healthcare utopia known as Japan, when in reality they don't know jack shit. The highschoolers and college students are told what they want when it comes to Japan. Just my opinion though.

From what I've observed, this "crazed fans" phenomenon seems to be affecting females more than males. With someone like a male hikikomori and his idols, for example, he is obsessive and generally being creepy toward them but it only stops at that, being creepy. I'm not aware of any notable cases of male fans doing anything extreme beyond that so please let me know.
On the other hand, crazed female fans seems to be more common than male ones. Other than those posted by some user in this thread, there's also K-pop fans who, unsurprisingly, have a lot of female fans and subsequently more crazies among them as well. Women liking pretty boys is one thing, but there has to be an explanation as to why they turned out that crazy compared to male fans.
Crazed Male fans in the Asian idol scene are far rarer, usually loners, but when they act out are more overt, and you can guess, mentally disturbed. Which always makes a great front page story.

Bribe, cut keys, place tracking devices, install secret cameras and microphones. Steal personal items. Defecate outside the boys dorms or training facilities. 2 girls who were victim of his act jumped off from the building together and streamed it on twitter. One of them contacted to Japanese version of keemster(Korekore) and asked him to make video about this scumbag.
Korekore asked the girl to talk about what happened to her and other victims on his stream which was planned on April 13th, but the girl killed herself with an another girl who was also a victim of pyascal's hideous action.
Timeline of the whole drama
April 11th: Korekore was contacted by a female junoir high student who was a minor. She wanted to expose Pyascal. Pyscal told her on phone that he wants to meet her in person yo discuss the ongoing issues between him and her, but Korekore adviced not to do so.
April 12th: She decided to meet pyscal anyway. Pyscal threatened her with legal actions.
April 13th: The girl and one another girl jumped off from the building and streamed it on twitter. Pyscal released the official statement which translates to
The girl who killed herself was a big fan of mine and she would've killed herself long time ago if I didn't date her. I'm so sad to hear that she died. I realized that my relationship with her was innapropiate and decided to keep distance from her. Then she killed himself and I'm so sad. I tried to kill myself after seeing the news I'm so sad that I couldn't save her.

There is a Japanese youtuber named korekore who's basically a keemster of Japanese web. He often talks about ecelebs being awful human. He often invites victims of eclebs on his stream and "expose" their actions in front of millions of people.

Korekore had contacted Pyscal's manager and they said that everything the girl told him was true and Pyscal and his manager is planning to visit police station to talk about the incident to the authorities.
Korekore was also informed that Pyscal is planning to take some break from his job.
