Sudan 2023 Crisis Watch - For the three people that care about this dump of a country.

Just as the endless waves of "drones dropping crap into trenches in Ukraine" videos and pictures of burnt out soviet gear got boring. Perfect timing.
And an African war at that. Those tend to produce some kino clips of absolute insanity. Even the middle eastern guys are more competent/less suicidal.
Some of these guys are surreal levels of batshit and seemingly about as trained as the average CoD player.
Like seriously, some of the funniest combat footage ever comes from these parts of the world. Its like half of these people genuinely believe in tabletop-rpg magic.
One guy believes in his battle-proven lucky charm of protection and just openly walks into enemy fire,
but he survives unharmed because the other guy believes in his lucky charm of hitting your target and just does not bother aiming his gun.
Almost certainly less strict rules than the ukie war on recording cool shit too. Someone should air-drop blessed anti-dying GoPros on the frontline.

May the more faction with more tactical :medallion: and superior voodoo priests win. And RIP everything in the vicinity of fighting.

Also, thread video tax:
"Cell phone video recorded by what is currently believed to be the RSF shows them street to street fighting an empty street in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan."
(warning loud! as this was recorded by the battle singer of the squad) (in vertical 4:3)

Pretty sure the only thing that these guys killed is the hearing of the ammo-carry dude.

Also on the topic of AA, they are trying to take the planes down. I dont hear a plane on this recoding, but the (presumably SDF) goons sure are firing at something in the sky.
"Witness footage recorded from someone's apartment shows an anti-aircraft technical engaging with Sudanese aircraft. "

5$ say that the SDF first shoots down a civilian plane before ever getting close to downing a military jet.

If it weren't for all the black guys, you'd think this was a Chechen wedding. Just fucking bullet spray that shit. :story:

The RSF guys don't look too impressive with those technicals. Aren't they just gonna get eaten with all the flying machines around?

Does the RSA have an air force as well? It seems like the side with the jets would have an overwhelming advantage, no? Or will this be a primarily "urban" conflict?
The RSF has less than a dozen aircraft.

However they probably have just about as many men as the regular Sudanese military does in total.

So it's an army of mostly motorized infantry vs a mechanized army with an air force.

Yes and no, if the attack helicopter or jet can catch them out in the open they're fucked.

However if they can get into built up terrain or the airplanes can't find them they'll be pretty free to move.

The Sudanese Air force (SuAF) is mostly older MiGs and doesn't have many PGMs or drones capable or loitering and dropping PGMs, apart from a few Iranian drones in the same size class as a predator.

Plus the RSF has been busy destroying as many SuAF jets and helicopters as they can on the ground, including armed trainers, Su-25 attack jets, and Mi-24 attack helicopters, all of which would be extremely useful over the next few days/weeks.

Currently the SuAF has maybe 12 Mig-29s, ~6 Su-24 attack jets, and 10 or fewer Su-25 attack jets, along with maybe 20 old Chinese A-5 attack jets.

The rest of their air force is pretty much useless for ground attack, consisting of ancient Mig-21s and Mig-23s.

The RSF also destroyed the majority of the transport aircraft fleet of the SuAF as well, which will make creation resupply air bridges to isolated air bases EXTREMELY difficult.

Also, in more hilarious news, the Egyptian Air force has lost 10% of their entire Mig-29M fleet as they were stupidly basing multiple jets in Sudan and whoops, the RSF destroyed the jets in the ground when they pulled out form the base as the SuAF was hitting it with air strikes. The Egyptians were also horribly embarrassed as their troops were captured by the RSF and made to look like a bunch of dummies.

When has the Egyptian Army NOT looked like a bunch of dummies. The only victories it has is when it attacks itself.
The last time the Egyptian Army got a W was...

When it was under the command of British officers and the Egyptian government was run by British commissars

And the opponent?

...Mahdist Sudan
