Hainan Island is on average less than 20 miles from mainland China and was defended by undersupplied troops recently evacuated from the mainland with no will to fight left. The KMT refused to reinforce or resupply Hainan in favor of bolstering the defense of Taiwan. Crossing 70 miles in the face of a motivated, well supplied enemy with powerful allies is a big apple to Hainan's orange. China never has conducted such an operation before, unless it intends to invade Taiwan with a hodgepodge fleet of civilian fishing junks like it did Hanain lolthey did when they took hainan island from the ROC
Bought and paid for by Putin, whose probably living on borrowed time, regardless of the actual outcome of the conflict or all the rumors of his ill health, due simply to his age. Putin is the only thing really holding Russia together at this point, and he's effectively drawn the entire state apparatus around himself. Once he goes, it will all fall like a stack of cards.
didn't feline say that that's her Twitter like 2months back in "why Ukraine is gay" or the other containment thread?Anyone seen Feline Supremacist around lately? I had the same idea.
Stickin' it to "globohomo" by having gooks kill little white girls.Cope cage still can't cope with an FPV drone & skilled operator. Whatever it had as a payload definitely did some damage.

There goes the optics, and possibly parts of an MG.

That would be funny if you could find that post, but I really doubt it. She posted this about 15 hours ago:didn't feline say that that's her Twitter like 2months back in "why Ukraine is gay" or the other containment thread?
Well, she's not a Donbass Girl, for one and she solicited donations and sold merch to support "our boys at the front" and help the people of Donbass. Since it's illegal (sanctions) to give money to the Russian military, she was ether lying or subject to prosecution herself. My bet is on the former,
They'll yuck it up as epic win like they do when they jerk off to that German propaganda art of Russian Buryats raping children.Stickin' it to "globohomo" by having gooks kill little white girls.
No gun is an odd look.Well its not US woodland set up but nature is healing and Bradley's about to do what they been created to

That's just psyops 101. I've never seen them in the same room together.Doesn't sound like they're the same person, or even that she approves of her.

Either painting the barrel or maintenance on it on the field making sure it's clean off screen due the 25mm on it is considered a small arms and any technician and armorer needs to know how to clear and clean the bradley autocanonNo gun is an odd look.
General Dyanamics start a new collab with Bud Light's crazy tranny?
The only thing dumber than a vatnigger is a Chinaboo. They seem to be the same thing in some cases. The dumb shits who think Russia is strong also think Commie chink China is strong well. Though the Chinese military is just a copy of the old Soviet military. Most of their stuff is just copies of Russian stuff with some minor improvements.
The same Kiwifarms experts in military tactics that assured us the Russians would beat Ukraine faster than the US beat Iraq are all there telling their expert predictions on what would happen should China invade Tawian. It's like a convention for the most inaccurate fortune tellers.
I don't see it happening either.I'm saying it's going to take much more than just Russia being weak. The leadership of the territories is 100% Ruskie buck-broken with not much in the way of alternatives waiting in the wings for the most part.
That's not as stupid as you think given Russia's organization and regarding the humans involved as interchangable parts. Some Russian Naval formations have mechanized arms (like how the US Marines had tank divisions until recently; don't get me started there) only instead of branch-wide formations each brigade is expected to be self-sufficient. Thus all Marines are sailor and all sailors are potential marines.
Ship is in port and not leaving, Comrade. Time to get in tank for mother land. It is like small ship for land! Smedvaka!
I'm not. Someone has to print out the slides for the weekly briefing packet. I'm more surprised that he wasn't caught slippin' before this, but I guess Chairforce + Nasty Girl.
Also a bunch of really stupid shit is classed as Secret/Top Secret, shit any adversary very clearly knows. tl;dr its about making sure that even if they know it, they can't confirm it.
Donating stuff to the war effort isn't like putting a Ukrainian flag in your avatar and going around spamming Slava Ukraini everywhere. That's like the kind of shit normies do on social media. Like whenever something happens they put flags in their avatars. That's what I am talking about.Conflicts ranging from the Papal States in the 19th century Catholics from all over Europe volunteered to help the Holy Father resist the Garabaldians and Sardinians to the Spanish Civil War where volunteers from all over the world flocked to help the Republic (and some the Franquists / Nationalists). And for this war, foreign volunteers or neighborhood volunteers like the Georgian Legion have been in the field since 2014. This war has seen crowd funded Toyota HiLux / Tacomas pickups or Landcruiser jeeps, helicopters and drones funded by paid for by donations by people who never were in Ukraine. Unlike equipment pledged at summits, these can arrive faster and, as with Baykar, the maker might donate extra vehicles which boosts their own reputation, which for a business is precious. People do what they like with their money and for them Putin and his slaves are as popular as cancer. While the UA govt isn't spotless (think of the sketchy Defense Minister), the Putin despotism is both repellent and incompetent except possibly with propaganda but unfortunately for Putin he too is reportedly entranced by it.
Returning to donations, Aliexpress drones are sometimes donated personally and can be put to work spotting (and with modification) bombing. Denys Davydov, an exiled native of Sevastopol, civilian airline pilot and vlogger donated his Ural Dalesman which he had got, presumably for a road trip for himself and his wife.
Putinbots and their foreign dupes or Russian private donors can be vocal but they are either poor or mean. Think of that, I know of a smart area in a European city which also has the the Russian Embassy. The residents put up some very well made UA flags to show solidarity which translates into donations.
Now there are also scammers, but overall, crowdfunding has been key to this war, it seems to me.
It can look cringe and maybe is, but it helps. Survival or victory isn't cringe for Ukrainians. If Ukraine had fallen, Poland and other neighbors would be next.
What works is right. Always.
What's the point of seniority if you can't order junior officers to do all the boring paperwork for you?I just figured someone with some seniority would handle anything that was really important. I guess that's what they get for leaving it up to 21 year old flunky.
There is a big difference between "hey, go get me a coffee" and "hey, take care of these sensitive intelligence documents".What's the point of seniority if you can't order junior officers to do all the boring paperwork for you?
All a clever long-term KGB misinformation campaign. Bait taken, hook swallowed, SMH. Shamfur.TLDR there's not even slight evidence that they're the same, except for similar views
That's about the only thing you could do. Which makes me wonder:The Russians are going to turn the T-55's into SPG's supposedly. That's what was said in the video. They are going to load them up with those 100mm shells from Iran and use them as artillery support assault guns or whatever.
They did take a bunch of guys off the ships and put them with the marines. They are just all mobliks and in the eyes of command equally worthless. That makes sense. They are like Russian version of US Marines. I thought they took some guys off a ship. They do call the top part of the tank a deck. lol
If the US was still willing to use even newer cold war tanks as the M-60 and even Abrams as mobile artillery I imagine the T-55 has sights for that as well. But it's only a 100mm gun and the barrel can only elevate so much. Those T-55's are going to have to get pretty damned close to be used that way. Which means they are going to get hit hard. But I am sure it will make some pretty interesting war porn for weirdos like me. lolAll a clever long-term KGB misinformation campaign. Bait taken, hook swallowed, SMH. Shamfur.

US Post-WWII tanks up to the Abrams IIRC (and I believe removed in the A2 version of the M60) had instrumentation to allow them to be turned into indirect fire artillery pieces if needed due to experiences in WWII. I'm curious if the T-55 has similar sights or if its going to be Smedvka.

I'm guessing the M-47 and M-48 had the artillery sights. Imagine putting artillery sights on a tank and having to make a dirt ramp for them to elevate the gun. The Russians want to use the T-55 as an SPG. Each time they fire they have to move to avoid counter battery fire. That means they will need new ramps. It's going to be a bitch.Abrams doesn't have it, never did. And I believe the M60 dropped it when it got up-gunned or shortly after (I believe the A2) but don't quote me on that. The instruments got use in Korea but they weren't very useful in Vietnam a decade later- tl;dr you needed to put the tanks on a ramp to get the needed elevation on the gun, and doing the needed earth moving meant they couldn't be pressed in to service quickly.
Given the shift to mobile war + airpower + artillery range/accuracy improvements, it made tanks as improvised artillery seem like juice that just wasn't worth the squeeze. And add to that improvements in tank guns/sights that meant that your tank could act as a direct-fire SPG if needed.
I'm not sure if the Soviets would have put it on the T-55 because artillery sighting is very finnicky. Incredibly fine woopsies of fractions of a millimeter on the sight translate into dozens of meters of inaccuracy when the shell reaches its target. This means its fairly expensive and to keep it in a useable state requires maintenance.
Question: how viable is it to throw high explosives via direct fire, the same way you'd be trying to hit a tank?I'm guessing the M-47 and M-48 had the artillery sights. You can do it. It would work. It's just not the best way to do it. You mean like line of sight? There were assault guns used in WW2. It's a pretty old concept. People stopped doing it. They started doing it with mortars artillery and planes. The problem is if you can see what you are shooting at, they can probably see you or will see you.Question: how viable is it to throw high explosives via direct fire, the same way you'd be trying to hit a tank?
If I'm not wrong the Germans thought of doing that with the StuG series in ww2, and their firing range was expected to be 2+km
