Also, has anyone caught on to the fact that Gideon's plan with the Mandalorians is essentially the same plan Desann and Galak Fyyar had back in Jedi Outcast?
-Experiment with Force-sensitivity
-Create army of heavily-armored warriors inspired by multiple sources
-PROFIT/BRING ORDER TO THE GALAXY/WIPE OUT THE JEDI OR MANDALORIANS
The only difference is, at least Desann and his forces gave Luke a decent workout. I'm sure that if he showed up on Mandalore in Season 3, he'd fucking annihilate everything Gideon worked so hard to build without a sweat. Meanwhile, Desann back in Jedi Outcast actually fought Luke to a standstill, and gave him the slip. His forces were actually a challenge for seasoned Jedi like Kyle Katarn, meanwhile, the only result I can see if you pit Gideon's beskar troopers and royal bodyguards against someone like Kyle Katarn would be a repeat of the Massacre at Galidraan.
That, and wiping out the Jedi is far more prestigious than say, wiping out the Mandalorians. The Jedi are a symbol of the Old Republic and open defiance to the Emperor; the latter of whom needed to create a fake war where he controlled both sides just to get rid of them. The Mandalorians were a foe that the Imperials crushed and annihilated as if it was a joke. In the old canon, they easily moved in and enslaved the Mandos, and the old canon last story with the Mandalorians had them on their last battle on Botajef, where Imperial Stormtroopers annihilated their army. In the new canon, the Empire crushed their forces conventionally, then they nuked the Mandalorians for teh lulz.
Wiping out a small fleet that has what appears to be the last of the Mandalorians would be a minor accomplishment for Moff Gideon, but I hardly think that would be the kind of rallying victory that would get the rest of the Empire behind him; if Galak Fyyar won against the Jedi, the Imperials would've rallied to his banner.
Counter Point: No one on TNG had a cocaine addiction
They managed to give Trekkies the cast they wanted in a season that only shits on the fan ocassionally. Anyone still watching is a zero-standards consoomer addicted to nostalgia - if cutting a check to a bunch of Senior Citizens to put on costumes does it for you. And Picard is dead and some sort of super gay worthless robot that can still die.
But no one can argue that is more than Star Wars got, and that is sadly the best treatment of any major SciFi/Fantasy property since.... Season 7 of GoT?
So I guess congratulations on finding a packet of peanuts in that turd.
Maybe because fans of the franchise made the Picard stuff? I mean, grab some fans of the movies, and Star Wars can do just as well.
But considering that Trek is owned by Paramount, and Paramount ain't exactly immune to woke nonsense, I don't think this will last that long.
