You know the whole pay for the checkmark situation is just like why he stuck around as long as he did on the sidescrollers podcast when they brought in Keem and Gundam and that's Piggy couldn't concede and walk away because it meant da trolls win but in reality it was win/win regardless.
Phil will make ego related mistakes every stream because he's egotistical.
He will make normal human level mixups because he's human and is talking while multitasking or fell for a social contagion.

From how he uses the words, quality to him is "whatever I do in an attempt to make money" and meaningful is "whatever I do to make money".
I have no idea why he thinks anything related to him playing a game online for people or talking about his life drama is quality or meaningful, but that is part of his ego problem.
He has to claim that his stuff is quality and meaningful to separate his self from the rest of us.

its all just cope because he's going through a mid life crisis and deep down realizes how worthless his existence is and that he's nothing more than a soulless husk of a person, so he constantly tells himself that what he does is "meaningful" to soothe his ego so he doesn't have to face reality
Totally way off-topic but Day 1 of Heritage's Signature Auction started about 40 mins ago if anyone wants to watch video games allegedly sell for tens of thousands of dollars.
DSP should do a react on one of these auctions and tell us how he used to own each and every one of these games.
He basically said it during the interview, and yes, I think it's part delusions, part wishful thinking.
The content is meaningful for 2 reasons: for one, because it affects him positively. He's trying to convince everyone that the conversations he holds with others in chat are fun and make him feel better, since that's how he socializes. However from what I've seen, he thinks of these people as wallets, they're not his friends (only when convenient, a fake "friend" title can be used), and he only addresses stupid/food questions most of the time, serious and honest ones are none of your business and you're an idiot.
Derich's random Wikipedia facts and copy pasted spam is what brings the didactic aspect to the streams.
It's also good for the viewer because it lets them get away from real life problems, and they're offered a cathartic experience... you know, except when he brings finances every hour, and pushes it down their throats when contributions are lacking.
Heavy moderation for the tiniest of criticisms also helps, and if you're having fun talking with others in chat and not really paying attention to DSP, you might get yelled at, because the purpose of the chat is not for that, it's to concentrate all fast food questions possible so that the streamer doesn't have dead air.
