Sony hate thread

I specified the developers. There's no "Sassy, bitchy black qween as the protagonist" quotas being forced on the titles, at least as far as I know.

As for whatever the hell that is, Microsoft is based in Washington. It's not SoCal level aids, but pretty close, so I'm not suprised they're advertising that stuff on social media. As long as they're not pushing it in my vidya, I don't give a shit.

The Silent Hill Collection for the PS3/XBOX 360 is one of those things that I sometimes get curious about, while also wondering why this came out in the first place. As someone that knew of the famous horror game series but was too young to play it due to the mature and horror themes (save for the “M” rating — I was not that edgy yet), I want someone to tell me what was it like when you found out that this collection came out almost a decade ago.

For a new player like myself, I actually wanted to get it now since it’s almost $30 today. Though, I could also do that McBoot Jailbreak and find a ROM to play it.

If anything, I’ll probably have to do the same thing with the original PS1 game. It’s far too expensive for my wallet.
This vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wya4XhTPMcc&t=4s and part B tell you anything you need to know about this "collection"/"remaster". It's garbage. They lost the source code and try to recreate things by just guesstimating. Subpar framerates, especially in Silent Hill 3, desynced audio, terrible voice acting (especially in Silent Hill 3 which doesn't have the option to use original voices). I've completed this collection on the Ps3.

As a guy who had never played Silent Hill before, Silent Hill 2 is playable, until you research after and find out all the fucked up things they raped from the original. Like how they messed up the crawling and walking for monsters so when they crawl the walking sound plays and when they walk it's the opposite. Silent Hill 3 it was obvious things were fucked up without even researching, the voice acting was bad, terrible fps, at some points like 15 I'm not exaggerating, weird audio desyncs, no sound in some cutscenes.

I would play these either in pcsx2 emulator or on PC Enhanced Edition (even though they have started going too far too and I would ommit the enhanced textures and other changes they recently made cause that ruins the original artstyle too)

Tl;dr In the Horizon dlc, you have the option of kissing a girl. People voicing annoyance at another Sony woman liking gooch, Metacritic throws their own fit and deletes the reviews/"improves" their moderation. Eurogamer appalled someone could hate this masterpiece.
Well, that's reassuring. Hope it's handled better than TLoU:II.

This is like saying you'd rather have corn-filled solid turds instead of runny diarrhea. At the end of the day, they are both shit.

Less we forget, XBOX has already had things in their consoles that Sony is currently doing

Play Tsushima, it's quite good and not a waste of your time.
I own it on PS4 but have been waiting to see if a PC port happens, if it doesn't I'll just play the PS4 version.

Uncharted 4 was the worst game of the series.
I've heard that Ghost of Tsushima is pretty good but I'm not going to buy a PS5 just for that game. I will wait for the PC version.
The only problem with UC4 is the token "strong black female" character shoehorned in because things were already getting Woke in 2016, but it was that transitionary era where it wasn't fully corrupted yet, she's not in the game much after all is said and done.

But I loved the hunt for pirate treasure, it was like the Goonies sequel we never got and it wisely avoided the veering into semi-supernatural territory that never fully worked in the other games.

However I fully think the game works because of groundwork laid by Amy Henning and what sucks about it it is due to Druckmann.

I think they should have made a sequel but as a 4-player game (also playable solo) like a Sony version of Gears of War.
I think "Sony's Gears of War" is probably how The Order started life.

I agree a sequel should have happened (and agree with your idea) but it should have happened no later than 2018 or 2019, the ship has probably sailed.

I know people were salty about the game, but the art direction was top notch and I think comparing it to how stupid everything in the new Horizon DLC looks is a perfect example of how far we've fallen since 2015.

Remember when Sony wanted to push their "Halo killer" HAZE in 2008? In what reality had HAZE been consider a "Halo killer?" It's basically dude-bro FPS where you get hyped up on some drug to enable "superhuman" abilities.

Take the seriousness of Resistance, the grittiness of Killzone, and the environments of Uncharted, water them down, and miserably copy Halo. You get HAZE. Oh, and it's made by Free Radical and Ubisoft.

I liked the art direction of The Order 1886 too. It's a shame that Sony just killed it instead of fixing the issues in a sequel.

U4 was pretty much The Last Jedi of the franchise. Nate doesn"t act like Nate, somehow he has a brother, etc. Nadine is just the cherry on the shit Sundae. She beats the shit out of Nate several times whilst he can't block or fight back and she gets away before the ending. Uncharted didn't need to be deconstructed.

I never understood why people called it the "Halo killer" since the game wasn't on Xbox.

Positive is it doesn't look like Xbox management themselves are pushing any woke stuff on the devs.
I'm not the one who said that, but the Xbox politburo doesn't need to. Bethesda already bend the knee to the woke stuff, like the rest of the western industry.

HAZE was slated as a multiplatform release until Ubisoft made the decision to release it as a PS3 exclusive. The term "Halo killer" was meant to have it COMPETE with Halo as a sci-fi shooter. I believe they tried that marketing with Killzone on the PS2.

Dualsense controllers have a microphone built-in, so I can't wait until you have to pledge allegiance to the globohomo flag every time you turn on your PS5

HAZE was the 7th gen at it's worst, ugly as shit grey graphics, overly serious tone with "topical" subject matter of PMCs because oooooooh Blackwater, the Iraq war! That kind of shit is the precursor to today's Woke bullshit.

It was such a downgrade from Free Radical's Timesplitters games and it killed them and we never got Timesplitters 4 because of it, I'm still mad about it 15 years later, it boggled the mind it was the same devs, other than chasing the obvious trends at the time, it's a big "what the fuck were they thinking?" moment, "hey guys, I got a great idea, let's do THE EXACT POLAR OPPOSITE of what we've built up a fanbase for!", such a great idea that panned out so well for them.

I liked the art direction of The Order 1886 too. It's a shame that Sony just killed it instead of fixing the issues in a sequel.
I'm also still mad about this, Uncharted 1 was both shallower and shorter but we still got Uncharted 2 which was a big improvement, sometimes things need a dry run before they can really hit it out of the park, we were robbed of a potential classic with an Order 2.

How does Nate not act like Nate? He's not the deepest character to begin with, as comfortable with cracking open a cold Corona as busting a cap in hundreds of asses, the brother was a bit of an asspull but that was Henning's original idea, it's fine as an explanation for why he gets back into the game after retiring.

The moment where the game tries to pull a Spec Ops: The Line with Nadine mentioning "almost all my men are dead" was absurdly tone deaf and she just leaves without facing any consequences, terrible, but doesn't sink the overall game, just something you have to overlook.

Haven't played much of Tsushima, but can confirm that I enjoyed it in the time that I spent with it.

They did. Killzone was being hyped as the tantamount FPS prior to its release, launched around the same time as Halo 2 and Half-Life 2. It doesn't take much to figure out who the biggest loser was.

I really wonder how much of a management mess Sony is at. Because you see, Sony is a gigantic fucking corporation, and Sony Interactive Entertainment, the branch responsible for PlayStation, is only one of it's subsidiaries.

In fact, only a few of Sony's subsidiaries are located in the US, while their biggest earner is, and I'm not making this up, Sony Financial Group, which is a Japanese bank that offers various services including life insurance. And that business is doing immensely fine for them.

And the subsidiaries that are hated the most, which are Interactive Entertainment, Music Publishing, and Pictures, are the ones that happen to be located in the US. But despite that they still have a metric fuckton of other subsidiaries in Japan, and those are the ones that are making the most of their cash.

Which makes me wonder, how does the HQ in Tokyo relate to their subsidiaries in the US? How the fuck are they letting their US branches do so many retarded decisions that will fuck these branches over in the long run? Or does the Tokyo HQ know they will fuck up and they're unbothered by it just by the sheer fact of how much money they are making domestically anyway?

Playstation is actually Sony's biggest earner. Financials is 2 and then stuff like movies, music and electronics are behind them.

edit: Also, PS4 did better than PS3 and PS5 has done better year for year than PS4 has so far so go on, please explain to us how they are fucking it up because it looks from the outside that they are doing a great job, financially.

It sucks that PS5 is actually doing well because it means Jim Ryan becomes untouchable. They REALLY need to get rid of that spineless fag.

To be honest though, Microsoft really shit the bed this year. They had strong momentum from 2021 through 2022 with sales but for some reason and all of they fucking studios they have, they were not able to release jackshit for their console and it started to drag now. Hi Fi Rush shouldn't have been a shadowdrop and it should've gotten a month or so of marketing to build some hype an interest in Xbox but right now they have fucking nothing until they show Starfield and god knows they have a mountain to climb.

I do not like PlayStation because of all of the shit they do, but currently they are much better positioned than Xbox with the timed exclusivity they purchased from FF16. Now, that bought them some time to get their shit in order but if they do not fill some spots for 2023 after FF, they will find themselves on the same exact situation Xbox is in now, where there is just nothing on the Horizon.

Spiderman 2, Stellar Blade and TLOU Factions are also coming out this year. Next year probably Rise of the Ronin, "Camden", FF7R 2 and DQXII. Its not normal for a publisher to have games announced more than a year in advance. that Microsoft has so many named titles that are still releasing TBA after five years of development is a black mark on them, not their competitors.
