Sony hate thread

Spiderman 2, Stellar Blade and TLOU Factions are also coming out this year. Next year probably Rise of the Ronin, "Camden", FF7R 2 and DQXII. Its not normal for a publisher to have games announced more than a year in advance. that Microsoft has so many named titles that are still releasing TBA after five years of development is a black mark on them, not their competitors.
Stellar Blade has a chance of being delayed I think. We haven't seen anything from it and the studio are going hard on Nikke, but Sony can afford it thanks to Spiderman. I wonder if Factions will materialize in the end, I hope it does exist but I'm not so confident. Even if you don't count those, FF16 and Spiderman is much better than whatever is going on at Microsoft.

It's funny seeing how Microsoft shit the bed and wasted the opportunity they had to land a solid blow on PS this gen but they weren't able to get anything solid going. Redfall has an opportunity but the 30fps drama and the shitty IGN gameplay really deflated people on it. (Stop giving IGN gameplay exclusives because they always fuck it up, like they almost killed Sonic Frontiers).

As much as I don’t like most of Sony’s games, they release games consistently. Not the same can be said for Microsoft.

I'm still sad that Sony didnt give two shits about the Vita.
It never even got a racist billboard like the psp sony-724850.png

I'm pretty sure I 100% HZD, but I can remember none of it except the Death Stranding easter egg for some reason and Lance Reddick (RIP). I remember nothing from the game, and to even stand playing it I had tv shows on the entire time. I never even did the DLC because it was too boring. I think it was the first and last big Sony 'game' I played, I don't think I would be able to even stay awake to play Last of Us or God of War. I played Death Stranding right after and was engrossed the entire time, I could tell you the story of my 'journey'. As much as people shit on Death Stranding for being a walking sim, at least I can REMEMBER playing it. (I did enjoy Death Stranding very much, but I can see why people don't like it)

I'll wait for the inevitable Switch port of DQ XII. The rest I don't care about and I don't even know what Camden is.

This is like saying you'd rather have corn-filled solid turds instead of runny diarrhea. At the end of the day, they are both shit.

Less we forget, XBOX has already had things in their consoles that Sony is currently doing

Been like this since 2017ish, really sucks aye. Some of it is the Xbox division being screwed over by the Windows division, some of it covid, some of it complete mismanagement and incompetence. It's a mess.

Sony meanwhile has had their studios sorted out for awhile, but they have the opposite issue of their games having a certain template so they feel samey, even if its a completely different genre and setting. Just like Ubisoft!

Thats because Camden hasn't been revealed yet, its still just a codename. And don't expect DQ XII on Switch, it will probably be ported to the successor though in a few years.

How did you convince yourself that Dragon Quest 12 would be primarily developed for the PS5 ?

You might not care if the fire is in your garage but hoping it won't spread to the rest of your house is short-sighted and beyond optimistic.
You're not wrong. Like I said, they're in Washington so I unfortunately expect some wokeness from them like all the other companies in that region, even Nintendo of America when they insert their nonsense into some games. It's a tradeoff, when I press play and start a game up, if I don't get blasted with that shit in the games themselves, I can tolerate it. The entertainment industry has made my standards very low to where "Don't directly piss on me" is somehow a thumbs up.

Kind of like content creators. I rarely use stuff like Twitter so if they keep their nonsense on there, but in their YouTube videos stick to what I subbed for, then we're golden.

If HLTB is any indication on ownership, Dragon Quest XI was much, much more popular on Switch than anything else, with PC as a distant second place. They'd be foolish to abstain from a Switch port on launch.

I get that the idea that it might not hit Switch so soon is because it's being developed on Unreal Engine 5, but UE5's been announced to run on Switch, and implicitly PS4 & Xbox One. Unless Sony's giving Square-Enix a handsome, handsome chunk of change, DQXII is absolutely going multiconsole.

DQ is always primarly developed for the most popular console and PS5 ain't it.

Dragon Quest is also this massive timeless franchise in Japan and mainline releases always followed the rule on being developed on the most popular system(s) at the time there, with DQ11 being a slight oddball as it started as two entirely separate games between 3DS and PS4.

Making DQ12 exclusive on PS5 and skipping out the Switch would be nothing short of a disaster. Especially with the way PS5 games continue to sell in the country of the rising sun (in spite of the PS5 unit topping the hardware sale charts for weeks), and with Final Fantasy 16 that could be very well the final nail in the coffin. The latter is likely to be the best-selling PS5 game but it's gonna be a far cry of how mainline Final Fantasy used to perform previously. In the range of 150k retail at launch if COMG! Pre-Orders is of any indication (although not exhaustive), and I might be generous.

Tears of Kingdom is going to be an absolute monster in the nippon market

Also the last japanese feed of the FF16 State of Play had all the in-game footage in english text and cutscenes dubbed in english without JP subtitles. It really gives off the impression that SIE is putting the bare minimum effort for the japanese market, like an afterthought.

That explains the dumbed down combat and the transmogrification into an action game from an RPG.

i played a bit of Tsushima and it was good. very beautiful game for being on the ps4. the problem with Tsushima is that it suffers from the same problem most open world ubisoft game suffers from being a big open world game that only exist to drag the game on for as long as possible with a bunch of side activists and collectibles. i will give the game credit that the stuff looking for in the open world is worth it but it made me burn out way to fast since im the kind of guy that like to do all the side stuff before moving on to the main story stuff. it also suffer from the problem making you too overpowered for the main story missions if you spend time leveling up doing side activities.

once i reached the second island and saw how big it was, i noped the fuck out and i borrowed the game from a friend so i will never finish it.

I don't know how investors don't just look at something like Anthem and say "you'd better fucking show something original that has the slightest chance of a return our investment before we hand you a single red cent"
That studio sounds like any other tech start-up that blows venture capital on foosball tables for the break room instead of ever delivering a viable product to sell. Brilliant decision making from Sorny again.
Can confirm. 2make makes the fan sound like a jet turbine where as GOT didn't at all and it's way higher fidelity.
Mine was comparably quiet with 2make, went into hair dryer mode on a friend's PS4 almost instantly. Can't use my PS4 for quite a while now because it's so extremly noisy and drives me nuts, can't clean it because i/Sony fucked up one of the screws that's needed to open the console up. I have no idea why Sony consoles have such high differences in their individual console manufacturing, i had problems with Playstations ever since the PS1 era, as i stated somewhere earlier ITT already. Another friends PS4 Pro goes apeshit with its fans even after cleaning and thermal paste replacement, it's weird.

I liked the art direction of The Order 1886 too. It's a shame that Sony just killed it instead of fixing the issues in a sequel.
I liked it enough I paid over 200$ for the artbook and it revealed an interesting little detail, for the game's main female character they said they wanted her to look like an equal member of the team but "still feminine", imagine that, compare that to Abby in TLOU2 or Aloy and her girlfriend in the latest Horizon DLC.

You can trace that step by step process with female characters in games, around 20 years ago they were almost always sexy, then around 10 years ago they toned it down to make them "more realistic" instead of looking like strippers, I could have lived with 2013-2015 levels, but Woke by it's nature continues to double down and triple down as time goes on, now we're at the point with stuff like Abby and Aloy looking so exactingly designed to be as purposely unappealing to gamers like me as possible, this isn't even about characters looking "sexy" anymore, this is flat out stupid or ugly designs you take one look at and simply don't want to waste your time or money playing as them.

The Sarkeesian shit was already going down years ago, but TDS hit the western industry like a nuclear fucking bomb, an extinction level event to where shit's simply drying up fast as to what's worth playing, at least in the AAA sphere, the agenda is to violently rip gaming away from the hands of guys like me or similar guys who were the average gamer in say 2010 and replace us with women, minorities, gays, lesbians, trannies, you name it, anyone but a guy like me, the whole thing has become one big middle finger aimed directly at gamers like me who have fond memories of what this industry used to be.

But I actually liked the PS4 and it's run of first party Sony games more than I liked Sony's PS3 output for the most part up until TLOU2, though obviously it didn't hit the same highs as the PS2, I remember replaying the original Sly Cooper in 2020 and right off the bat it was crazy how refreshing it was, how instantly likable the characters were and how charming the overall tone was, the exact opposite of something like TLOU2.

Though tbf, Sucker Punch seems like the last Sony dev that actually might still be worthwhile.
