Can someone on the "this is a fake REEEEEmergency" please, for the love of god, explain to me what about DSP getting DMCA strikes triggers their incredulity? Issuing real or fake (if you're wiling to risk your actual google account) strikes on Youtube is incredibly easy and Dave, especially since the interview and recent detractor channel takedowns, is very hated.

It's basically a miracle that this situation isn't a more regular occurrence (probably because youtube already has a mechanism to filter out most retaliatory strikes on hated channels)

That would require effort and brains, things DSP lacks.

He probably could've just privated all the videos, to prevent additional strikes, and then take his time editing out the intro. But to give him some credit, his quick action might've prevented a third strike as whoever was doing them must've entered them manually one by one.

He would have to do it with every single one individually and wait for a day for each. It would take him hours to even set it up. He's probably super nervous he might lose the ability to stream, so he made a quick decision to just wipe them all away just to be sure.

One more thought about this whole thing:

It's quite ironic that DSP might've screwed himself by doing a victim & pay-me-pity bucks segment about the content-id claim about the song. If this whole thing is a gay-op by some pissed detractor, DSP gave them the exact blueprint to create a legitimate looking strike (please strike this exact part of my podcasts).

Even phil realizes his own videos are garbage and has no problem just permanently removing any them from the internet forever without a second thought. His podcasts in particular are just pointless trash that no one would ever actually want to go back and watch, unless it was a detractor going back to find a specific clip for their own videos.

A normal youtuber that is actually proud of their work and has attachment to their videos would probably try to preserve their work but phil doesn't care. He's already made 99.9% of the money he'll ever make from those videos so fuck it, just delete them. Its not like any effort went in to making them in the first place.

He consistently both confuses the types of claims, strikes, and warnings he gets between copyright and ToS, sometimes purposefully to be deceptive. I would believe some troll is claiming him out of anger though. There's a lot of ex-wings people that migrated to DSP in the past couple years, and they are autistically vengeful. This kind of non-heterosexual special operations is extremely common amongst them.

What I love about this potentially happening is that without the protection of partner status, his dumbass is ripe for mass flagging leading to a permanent ban. As a non partner, Twitch staff might not want to deal with the influx of reports and nonsense and will just drop the ban hammer on him and be done with it.
