Careercow Brandon "Bam" Margera - From Jackass to Lolcow

@Terfatron If you copy all the actions of a celebrity you're obsessed with, it's not a celebrity's fault. It's yours.

Edit: The USA's high drinking age strikes again - first time day drinking at 24? That's too much of a shock to the system, of course he couldn't handle it. You people need a more rational system for drinking ages. Even just copying Canada's 18/19 for all types of alcohol would cut down on all the amateur antics of your drunks. Would decrease drunk driving as well.

Nobody could possibly be surprised by Bam being obsessed with Valo, right? He was so obsessed that he didn't even realize that he himself was more popular than HIM ever was and, further, most people fuckin thought their logos were Bam's creations and not the other way around. It's wild. I feel bad for Bam though. Dude lived a crazy life and got everything anyone could ever want, but he was surrounded by users and they used him up and then ditched him. Bet it's really easy for all his Jackass friends to look down on him now when they are all sober because he was the odd man out but nobody said shit until he was circling the drain. I remember hearing a podcast with him where he talked about Viva La Bam, and how MTV would just give him a few million bucks to film every episode and he couldn't even think of how to spend it all, that's why he would end up hiring Metallica to play on a new skate park he build on the roof and shit.

If you are 24 and people around you give you all that and you basically own everyone you know, how could anyone possibly be surprised when you fall to pieces on the back of it.
Damn, when I was 24 I was definitely an adult with a personality shaped by my own values and lived experiences living in Kenya.

Since the thread has been discussing HIM for the last couple pages a interesting vid is this one where Bam (in his prime) just gives a full adoring minidoc on his love of HIM.
One good character trait when it comes Bam is that the guy does support what he loved. I doubt anyone in the states would know of Valo had it not been for Bam being the biggest cheerleader. I still remember being confused hearing HIM expecting music in the vein of CKY or THPS 90s punk.

Also I'd imagine Valo had to have received a small fortune for Bam and MTV's use of the Heartagram. It's insane to me that a combination of a Heart symbol and Star of David could be trademarked, brilliant of Valo to do.

FYI: As we wait for Bam to turn up I plan to update the OP which could use more info & general lore. If you have suggestions on what should be covered post your ideas in my profile or PM me just don't reply to this thread as it'll be less likely that I'll see it. Topics I want to add:

1. Orbiters: BJ "That Surprise Witness" Courville, Jess Margera, Scumbag Vinnie. Going to have to just make a new tab on what hopefully will be a new arc for Bam.
2. Bam's obsession with HIM Probably not, it's 20 years old
3. The Secrets of Laskian Strigoi and Bam's best doodles - Definitely need to add the "Wall of Flesh" Doodle to the OP

The Con circuit is big everywhere. Bigger named guests will draw a lot more fans from further away, like Pearlman (who is sadly a liberal dirtbag) and Elwes. A solid weekend for guests charging $50 for an autograph can easily generated $25-50k. $50 is pretty much the going rate for most guests nowadays. And it is all profit as the Show runners usually pay for the transportation and hotel rooms for these guests.
You really think 500-1,000 people will pay $50 for a photo with a woman they jerked off to in one movie scene 25 years ago? Maybe, I guess, what the hell do I know...

Anyway, maybe Bam is slowly making his way south to meet the contractual commitments he made. Always professional, our Bam.

I think pretty much everything about Bam's personality was a lot more understandable and forgivable when he was a kid. And while he's a complete monster now, I don't think young Bam was without talent or charisma.

He can't stop being an obnoxious attention whore because there is nothing underneath that persona, its literally him, he will need to cultivate an entirely new personality, become a jesus freak or autistically fixate on some other interest to fill in the blankness of his character.

Man, how hard up are Perlman and Elwes that they'll appear at some nothing con in Nowheresville, Florida? Poor Shannon Elizabeth is dragging her 49-year-old ass to the Ocala Equestrian Center, too. Guess she didn't marry rich.

Bam is charging $80 a photo, far more than any other individual guest.
Whatever keeps Perlman busy enough to not shit up Twitter with his "hot takes"

Something tells me Bam won't be making this convention.

Well I did say bigger names. Also just because I have met Shannon Elizabeth (who as of a few years ago when I met her, is still an absolute honey in person, aging like fine wine), she is awesome to her fans. She isn't generating a 500+ fan weekend, but based on what I saw of her table at that particular show, she easily hit the 200+ mark. A $10,000 weekend is nothing to sneeze at.

But someone else I have met recently, who signed nonstop all weekend was David Arquette (seriously an amazing dude). $100 combo auto and picture, had to have cracked 1000 people based on my experience in his line. My best guess was he easily cleared $75,000 that weekend.

Don't underestimate the allure of some names. Bam would have done alright at this con. If a crackhead loser like Edward Furlong can still generate lines at cons (I have seen them) then so can Bam. The problem with Bam would have been how long can he sit at a table and sign shit before he gets bored and needs to get plastered.

Yeah, truth. Bam would insert HIM videoclips in anything and people to this day thinks the Heartagram is Bam's original work. I went to work with a shirt with it and a coworker asked if I am a Bam fan and I was like, lmao no.
The band owes a lot to Bam and I can see why Ville still has good things to say about him in that interview and grieves about his current situation. Bam might have had some creativity and sensitivity in the past but it is all gone now.
I think I have some CKY and Viva La Bam episodes downloaded in my HD, if I find anything worth for the OP update I will send.

Bam is deeply in love with Vallo. Never gonna change my mind on that one.
I ship it unironically lol

The legal age in the US is 21, not 24. Still higher than the rest of the world, but not quite to the same disproportionate degree. The bigger thing is it applies to private as well as public consumption.

Even then, given who we're talking about, I'm pretty surprised Bam was that old when he first day drank (assuming the information given in that interview is true).

Not to be all StOp ThE bI eRaSurE but Bam has always given me bi guy rather than gay guy vibes. In fact I'm pretty sure I just assumed he was bi during the Jackass years. I never got the sense that he was homophobic, nor did he seem to worry about how he'd be perceived by being affectionate with other men, in the way that insecure closeted dudes often are. Has he ever stated that he identifies as one thing or another?
