New trailer just dropped. Turns out the April 28 and August 25 leaks were true.
>3rd gen speed
>4th and 5th gen movement mechanics (quick boost, turn boost, kicking the shit out of your enemies)
>design aesthetic looks to be combining 3rd gen overall proportions and silhouette, 4th gen angular look and 5th gen grim.
>Leg types actually matter more than all previous games
>Shields turned into "activate on command" type instead of hogging an arm slot which drastically reduces your damage output is a very nice change from their passive usage in past games.
>DID THAT FUCKING TANK AC JUST DO A SICK DRIFT?
Overall, just the the gameplay possibility offered to player alone is enough for me to buy it day one. More polished boss battles and melee options is always good as well, since both of them are not as good in past games tbh. I do hope they keep the quad leg laser blade poking animation though, not as powerful as a single pile bunker blow but still deal good focused damage.
Looks like the gameplay is akin to 4’s, but with more involved enemy design and a greater focus on boss fights. It’s exactly what I expected - a return to the most accessible entry, but incorporating the last 10+ years of experience they’ve accrued in combat systems.
I must say, I’m pretty pumped.
This is what I though as well, ACVD's bosses are pretty much this but much more polished and fun to fight against instead of relying cheap build like tank leg autocannons.
I like that they incorporated the pros of 4/FA's movement and gave it the speed of 3rd Gen. That particular scene of the AC quickboosting to avoid the laser barrage was *chef's kiss*.
They've also improved on the melee from what I've seen, as the animation for laser blades look more elaborate. I wonder what possible variations in blade animations are available depending on the leg type.
In any case, I like what I see and I can't wait for August 25th.
I'm definitely looking forward to what they did with the melee combat this time around. Past game have decent melee options but you have to be an absolute masochist to even think about using pile bunker and quad leg laser blading is busted.
Absolute neuron activation for mech autism. Almost definitely picking this up, hope I will be able to go full turbo autism making mechs.
You won't be disappointed, that I can assure you. Armored Core is the de facto mecha autism game.
