Armored Core

I think anything that's not a missile launcher or satellite will put you into stance unless you have the op intensify thing but that's post game.
Thanks, and while I'm at it. I've noticed I sometimes pick a mission and otjers that were available are removed. What os tje criteria for that or is there a way to know which missions are exclusive outside of looking a guide? I mostly prioritize anything with a hidden part (though the evade missiles for 2 minutes I filed as a pipedream) but would still like to know if I can maximize my mission intake.

Most missions have an attempt limit or limited lifespan before they expire, there isn't a way to tell without a guide I think. Sometimes you can fail a mission and it will still be there while other missions get cycled in, other times it will be there for one go before new missions are cycled in, and when it's a bigger mission you'll end up with the game over screen. If you really want to maximize your part intake go for the missions that have second missions attached, if you do both as a single mission you'll usually get a fairly beefy part most times.

ProfDongs covered most of it, and while I'm sure there are other examples, I just can't think of many right now. But in the OG PS1 Armored Core, there is a mission split.

You'll be presented with two missions, both with very similar names (one is Repulse Enemy Attack) and damn near identical mission objectives. The difference is you're choosing which faction to side with. The mission you clear locks out the other, and then locks out certain future missions until you beat the game. I remember this one because the Moonlight is available in one of the specific missions after this part. Once you beat the game, all missions become available in a New Game + sort of way; so you can go clear them and pick up any parts you may have missed.

I also want to say, I think For Answer has a similar mission set. You either go for the genocide ending where you shoot down the cradles, or the... Not genocide ending.

Again, I'm sure more examples exist, just can't think of them right now.

Thanks for the clarifications. I never officially fail a mission since I reload after fucking up and I do know there aren't branching endings on AC3 so I was wondering how that worked. Also, how relevant is company loyalty? Saw that a hidden part requires certain loyalty but that's all I know.

I am happy that having ALL the money hasn't made the game trivial (far from it), but some of the hidden weapon requirements are ballbusting. I like having to pretty much reconfigure every mission. Right now I'm on the sinking ship and learned that no, I don't fucking want a tank configuration for that one.

Double Post but I think enough time has passed.

Basically, Taipei show was mostly nothing. Poached shit bullet points from reddit.
  • Emblems and emblem sharing confirmed
  • Dynamic boss fights: Boss fights may have a little bit patterns (they kinda compared souls like bosses) but in a more elegant, fast-paced, and dynamic manner (so maybe sekiro kind of feeling?)
  • Gameplay mechanics are hidden in trailer, some things in the trailer could be done in-game ( Maybe AA -> dash pilebunker?)
  • Arena is the only Online feature they revealed at the moment, no mention if anything else
Aside from that, guess we wait.

Emblems are a given, else fans would riot tbh.
I'm interested in how they'd do the bosses this time around. My gripe with fighting bosses or other ACs in past games is that they are either have gimmicks (Flying fortress, Arms Forts) or having clear advantages over you like in Last Raven where you do not have access to Human+/OP-INTENSIFY but all other ACs do and proceed to whack you with no weight limit restriction and tear your ass a new with back mounted grenade launcher.
As for gameplay mechanic hidden in the game, this is (almost) the case with all trailer/CM for Armored Core games. Primal Armor that works as a back mounted unit (which I like) and EMP pulse explosion as a Core function is great as well. I do hope they bring back EO Core type but more options like V/VD scanning drones instead of just kinetic/energy firing drones. AI controlled ACs or UNACs that you can create to be your wingman is possible as well.
Back to waiting then.

I recently have been binging on Armored Core content. Especially Armored Core Lore. The channel and the lore.

I have also seen Japanese YouTube videos of Armored Core Verdict Day. I really love the Weapon Arms. Kinda wished I tracked down the Armored Core kits by Kotobukiya. Some of them got ridiculously expensive.

If you ever get around to buy a kit and build it, make sure to have a plastic cement handy on your side since the molds used for the models are ancient and Kotobukiya's plastic quality aren't that great back then and they don't bind/fit as good as Bandai's plastic.
Also avoid buying from scalpers if you can, we're having a bad case of P-Bandai models being scalped to shit and soon Kotobukiya's AC kits as well in Japan.

Tell me about it. Trying to get Zoids models right now is harder than getting a fucking PS5.

I loathe the idea of dynamic boss fights.
Armored Core Boss Fights should go one of three ways.

1. Let me roll up, gun it down and leave before it finishes loading in.
2. It nukes my ass before I even see it.
3. It turns into a long , drawn out and expensive battle since the cost of repairs nuked whatever I earned for the mission.

If I wanted dramatic multi-stage battles, I'd play Zone of the Enders for the millionth and a half time. OR maybe pick up SD Alliance again.

New trailer just dropped. Turns out the April 28 and August 25 leaks were true.
Looks like the gameplay is akin to 4’s, but with more involved enemy design and a greater focus on boss fights. It’s exactly what I expected - a return to the most accessible entry, but incorporating the last 10+ years of experience they’ve accrued in combat systems.

I must say, I’m pretty pumped.

I like that they incorporated the pros of 4/FA's movement and gave it the speed of 3rd Gen. That particular scene of the AC quickboosting to avoid the laser barrage was *chef's kiss*.

They've also improved on the melee from what I've seen, as the animation for laser blades look more elaborate. I wonder what possible variations in blade animations are available depending on the leg type.

In any case, I like what I see and I can't wait for August 25th.

can't believe they got Gillette to design a boss for the game

>3rd gen speed
>4th and 5th gen movement mechanics (quick boost, turn boost, kicking the shit out of your enemies)
>design aesthetic looks to be combining 3rd gen overall proportions and silhouette, 4th gen angular look and 5th gen grim.
>Leg types actually matter more than all previous games
>Shields turned into "activate on command" type instead of hogging an arm slot which drastically reduces your damage output is a very nice change from their passive usage in past games.
>DID THAT FUCKING TANK AC JUST DO A SICK DRIFT?
Overall, just the the gameplay possibility offered to player alone is enough for me to buy it day one. More polished boss battles and melee options is always good as well, since both of them are not as good in past games tbh. I do hope they keep the quad leg laser blade poking animation though, not as powerful as a single pile bunker blow but still deal good focused damage.

This is what I though as well, ACVD's bosses are pretty much this but much more polished and fun to fight against instead of relying cheap build like tank leg autocannons.

I'm definitely looking forward to what they did with the melee combat this time around. Past game have decent melee options but you have to be an absolute masochist to even think about using pile bunker and quad leg laser blading is busted.
Absolute neuron activation for mech autism. Almost definitely picking this up, hope I will be able to go full turbo autism making mechs.
You won't be disappointed, that I can assure you. Armored Core is the de facto mecha autism game.

My body is ready to spend a ridiculous amount of time building a mech just to realize I fucked up and the goddamn thing doesn't run properly and I've lost a life fortune, just to restart and try again. It's been a long ass fucking time.

Haven't checked the interview yet, the trailer looks great, but what I really want to see is a demo of like mission 3 from garage to completion. Peek at how the garage works, a confirmation if we can resell for buying price or not and just how the HUD looks and how things behave in a focused mission.

just as a heads up, lads: the devs have mentioned in the latest famitsu interview that they're going to be putting repair packs in the game with 3 charges being available to the player at any one time.

I know V and VD had a similar system with repair bases but I'm worried that this is going to turn into another iteration of the estus flask.

We're lacking more information on this subject so hopefully I'm wrong and it's not an estus flask but I'd rather there just not be any repair packs in the first place.
