The "defense" I've seen some people use for this hypocrisy is that "there is no moral consumption under capitalism" meaning that they can buy whatever the fuck they want without giving a shit about it, because they think it's capitalism's fault and not corruption from certain corporations, never mind that I have 90% of confidence that these same people that say this also called for the Rowling boycott. They are too sensitive to live without their pleasure, doesn't matter if the whole ideology says otherwise.

Probably not many. To the communist it's the fault of those richer then them as to why people are in poverty. They also believe that only the state can provide and if the government taxes the rich into oblivion then all poverty will be eliminated. So you see there is nothing they can do besides coom to funkopops since they are not rich (ignoring the fact that something like over $35k year income puts you in the 1% in the world).

On one hand, yes. If you say that communism is stupid in most mainstream subreddits, they will agree.

On the other hand, many of them are anti-west, anti-capitalist, and pro-central planning. If you say that communism is responsible for X atrocity, someone will pipe up and say acktually that was state capitalism or that was necessary or something something US imperialism. And if you call it "socialism" they'll accept whatever.
