I guess it's more of a thing with progressives or conservatives, most of actual communists such as tankies despise this kind of stuff, but it means they are socially conservative, the lefties in reddit however, have been manipulated by western consumerism culture, while also being contrarian to america in general, meaning that anything that american right dislikes is gonna be accepted by these kinds of people for the sake of "being progressive" , (reminder that many of the times they criticise the US is only because of conservative political practises, they never criticise the ACTUAL culture of the country that is so rooted in consumerism and is enough to create vile and dumb dipshits such as redditors)

That's describing libertinism not libertarianism.
Reddit may have been more libertarian when it was founded, but to state is is now is completely false. It is full of statists who want the government to intervene more in the lives of everyone. None of them believe in a free market.

The "defense" I've seen some people use for this hypocrisy is that "there is no moral consumption under capitalism" meaning that they can buy whatever the fuck they want without giving a shit about it, because they think it's capitalism's fault and not corruption from certain corporations, never mind that I have 90% of confidence that these same people that say this also called for the Rowling boycott. They are too sensitive to live without their pleasure, doesn't matter if the whole ideology says otherwise.

I want to know how many of these communist redditors actually donated money or tried to help actual poor people, but of course they think that bitching about stuff they dislike is gonna be for bigger help to society

Probably not many. To the communist it's the fault of those richer then them as to why people are in poverty. They also believe that only the state can provide and if the government taxes the rich into oblivion then all poverty will be eliminated. So you see there is nothing they can do besides coom to funkopops since they are not rich (ignoring the fact that something like over $35k year income puts you in the 1% in the world).

On one hand, yes. If you say that communism is stupid in most mainstream subreddits, they will agree.

On the other hand, many of them are anti-west, anti-capitalist, and pro-central planning. If you say that communism is responsible for X atrocity, someone will pipe up and say acktually that was state capitalism or that was necessary or something something US imperialism. And if you call it "socialism" they'll accept whatever.

That reddit post is legit making me mad. As a budgie owner I can tell you that budgies are extremely sociable and absolutely need a buddy not to go insane. Of course it spends the entire day playing with that toy, it has no one else to play with and it's probably the only toy it even has.

Edit: I read one of the comments where OP mentions that her (?) father feeds the bird chocolate and salted foods. Poor thing is being looked after by two incompetents.
