Yes, Market Garden was a bad (British) idea, and Normandy was a good (American) idea. See also: Pershing vs the British on tactics in WW1. At least in the 20th century, we were just better at land war than you. Of course, now we're more like you were then - really good at war when we're fighting against medieval savages, not so good when the other guys know what they're doing.

Aside from the Spetnaz groups and intel agencies forces which have equivalent of special units (SVU and FSB come to mind), it would probably be the VDV since it's fully independent branch versus part of the VMF.
