There are some good ideas in the She-ra redesigns, but they focus so much on "muh diversity" and "not sexualising" them that they just look boring. Doesnt help how dull the artstyle itself is, like they wanted a anime inspire style and strip it of everything that makes it appealing.

When they go to school and sit in the far corner of the classroom while wearing their noise-cancelling headset and jiggling their stim-slug even though they don't have an IEP for any of that, but their teacher is too tired to put up a fight, they are the only weirdo in a class of 25-35 doing that. Then at lunch time they either get together with their QSA friends or scroll their phones and are back with "their people" again.

They get enough alienation in their daily life to still think they are unique and creative.

I looked up "black guy with gap teeth" just because I had a feeling it was influenced by some celebrity, only to find out that there are many black celebrities with gap teeth.



It still feels strangely racist to see this in art.

I thought that was Diavolo from Jojo. That is not art style or artistic liberties, thats pretty much making a completely different character.

Something funny is more often than not, Porn artist (and even weird fetish artist) are way more respectful to the characters they draw than these people. Granted they may exaggerated boobs and such but aside from that they leave the designs pretty much intact. Meanwhile these people strip the character of all of what makes them appealing/recognizable or change them so much they could just make them an OC.
