Recently I've come to a really sensible and rational conclusion regarding my angst and grief over why when anime hit the states, there were no prominent hardcore pioneers of doing anime stuff when it got big. It's because with people like ANN and their "elite" lot from that time, they would probably do shit like engage in animation/manga industry shitflinging wars with Japan, and such talents deserve to be held for people who aren't reprehensible self entitled asswipes. Makes me glad that they're kept at bay in today's world and are nothing but talentless bigmouthed hacks.
Oh, right, and I forgot to address this too. I've probably addressed this before, but it took another victim to put Hazukari away for good. Great job Anime News Network. Was it worth it to try and shitkick a voice actor as a distraction because Hazukari was a fucking associate despite being a sexually abusive creep and pedophilic groomer? Again, blood on your hands.
You know.. A little off the subject for a sec. Am, I the only one who still finds these types of arguments and reasoning more than a little... insane and gross. The idea of a discussion getting "out of hand" or simply because of the subject. People treat open debate over many different types of topics like some kind of existential threat to the forum or site these days. I've even seen 'serious debate and discussion' forums ban whole lists of topics.. Especially but not exclusively where there is risk of the "wrong" opinions on "special" topics of debate. But even when it's not.. discussion gets shut down in the name of stupid non-reasons so often. "Oh lordy lordy people might get heated, or possibly mean things might be said.. better just shut down debate before it even begins or else.................. um yeah, better to be safe!"
I seriously think this type of mentality significantly contributes, or at least enables and makes easier, issue specific censorship. If people are conditioned to believe that even one side getting upset is enough justification to end discussion then "OC" certain topics should be off limits to debate.
ANN isn't about the human condition and human rights. They've always been about what everyone will think of them and how much they need to make an impression on people who never gave a fuck about them in the first place. All while being nothing but all consuming fanwhores and talentless entitled hacks. Imagine being a fan of media that openly does shit like killing God, calling out hypocritical bullshit, having an entire section unapologetically dedicated to pornography, and what not, and being some uptight prude faggot about it despite every other form of media having done so. That's some paradoxical existence right there.
If you want my personal opinion, ANN bans these topics because they know they and their userbase clearly aren't smart, wise, or emotionally mature enough to have a cohesive conversation on their forums without it devolving into a liquefied pile of smug, self righteousness, and know it all know nothing fuckery. Not even Naruto and Bleach fan forums back in the day shied from debate. It's a clear sign of ANN knowing what they are and being what they always were to begin with on a subconscious level.
That certainly sounds like something the bitch would do. I mean we are talking about someone so petty that she starts fights with random social media users for "disrestpecting" her work. ("reviews" etc) ugh
