It is now globally May 1st and April is officially over. Congratulations if your oshi survived
if hololive gets pass july without graduations or terminations we are in the clear.

i think july is when the last contracts of hololive ends and up for renewal. assuming because council and tempus are the gens that debut the latest in the year

I don't particularly care for Vshojo, but for some reason this news kinda makes me feel a lot more cynical about the vtuber industry and it's future. Can anyone relate?
Vshojo is the last corporation you should use as a guage for the industry. It's been obvious from day 1 it was not going to last.

Shylily has stated she will never go corpo, iirc. She's extremely knowledgeable about the nuances and workings of the industry and probably has a goto contract lawyer for literally anything.
She also went to Mythic Talent, same company as Veibae.

So who are they poaching now to replace the leaving members. Shiliy?
they would need to go with people who are lesser known. anybody else would most likely have no need for them.
And that's still an if - she mentioned during her stream yesterday that she's still negotiating her contract with Vshojo right before announcing she's delaying her subathon from starting today to either last week of May or start of June
this really makes me think the contract issue is related to how earnings are split up. mouse doing a subathon would mean whatever she makes must get divided between herself and vshojo but considering twitch gets their own amount as well my guess is that the actual streamers would be getting next to nothing.

which would explain why vei and silver left seeing as they barely stream to begin with and nyanners should be making enough on her own that she has no real need for vshojo. since she streams pretty often and even takes time to appear on smaller indie vtubers streams as well. but yeah if mouse leaves that should be a wrap for vshojo.

vshojo is an interesting idea the whole talent freedom thing is great in theory but the issue in the long run is that eventually the talent outgrows the company and can just leave without losing anything other than connections they are big enough to make on their own now or able to get via talent agency type things like mythic talent.

vshojo is now seeing the reason why all the other vtuber corporations hold on to the rights for everything vtubers that work for them have. it is their leverage so that they can have shitty or generally unfair contracts. without that what is stopping someone from just getting super big and then leaving and taking all their fans with them?

in my opinion vshojo should just work more as an indie start up type thing. where they only keep like one or two popular people but mainly focus on small no name vtubers and help them pay for models and stuff of that nature.

then when they get big enough they "graduate" but instead of it meaning they leave forever its like they graduate from vtuber school and go out on their own where they are free to do whatever.

obviously this would need some work but i think the general idea could work since you cant really be a real vtuber corperation without owning the talents models because eventually they get too big and leave.

welp there we go
she had a entire model ready and rigged up?
she was planning to quit phase and go solo but got caught and was fired
tbh it looks like a premade model she just bought
If you reverse search the reference sheet she posted on twitter you will find this site where the model was in fact listed for sale (a):

don't worry this is just the normal cycle of "we've reached saturation/the bubble has burst/vtubing is now in decline" that we've had around here for years. Ever since covid lockdowns ended and the growth surge of vtubing slowed It's been a regular topic.
