Well, good news everyone. One of the last bastions of Tolkien's legacy has fallen.
You can now be an obese black woman with a beard and man-faces on a game that was directly involved with the Tolkien foundation for its lore and designs.
This is one of the few content creators working on the topic.
Standing Stone Games has been meticulously deleting people's comments on their forced diversity changes and permanently banning people from their forums and the game for questioning it.
So, why not a thread where it wouldn't be censored discussion?
The reasons why it should be its own thread and not in the culture wars:
1. This change was done out of the blue.
2. This is actively unfolding - the developers are actively silencing and banning people while gaslighting that it's because they're racist or transphobic.
3. They're likely doing this as a test-run to see if it works on Dungeons and Dragons Online (Cardovan, the main dev in this case) is head of DDO. This makes it an active experiment to see if they can do this to their other games.
4. They essentially broke their game models in the rush to push this. When reason #1 says out of the blue. They announced it at the start of a week and released it by the next week with little to no testing. The videos below show what they did in this neurotic push.
5. They're actively banning anyone who even respectfully questions them.
In addition to the list above:
They've not only broken models, but animations, character facial expressions, and, effectively, plan to do the same for every race in their game.
They are also planning on adding shared racials - making race (Hobbit, Elf, etc.) pointless by allowing you to do whatever else is in the game in some mad push for all of this.
