Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I hope nobody was looking forward to that new season of Andor having even a marginal resemblance to the first season. Showrunner and writer Tony Gilroy has announced that, in solidarity with the current Writer's Guild strikes, he has pulled out of any future work on the show, and the second season's script will be completed by a replacement writer.
Wasn't there three days shooting left and they claimed the scripts were done before the deadline?

Gilroy is on strike, but that doesn't means he's never coming back to the show. Disney isn't going to hire another writer to work on the show while there's a strike on. They'd be in serious shit with the WGA if they did.
Tony Gilroy is a Communist motherfucker and I will kick his ass if I ever catch him out in the street.

Turning the Rebels (who were based on American Revolutionaries) into fucking Villistas and Fidel Castro-type cocksuckers is unforgivable.

I'm completely fine with the laser bows. I like to think it's a more archaic form of blaster that originated from the times before power packs held so much juice that ammunition became a complete non-issue, the bow mechanism being used as a way to conserve power by making the user generate the energy themselves; though if you were to take that to a logical conclusion then the people who would naturally gravitate towards that type of weapon would be the larger and stronger races like Wookiees and Trandoshans, which admittedly does seem to be vaguely supported by the existence of Bowcasters as a whole and the fact that the Trandoshan character in Bad Batch seems to be very familiar with that type of weapon.

The bigger issue is that the primary users of those weapons are the Nightsisters, who are practically skeletons, and Amiga, who is literally a 12 year old girl. In all fairness the episode in which Amiga first gets the bow does show her struggling to use it whilst the aforementioned Trando was able to use it effortlessly, I guess they probably toned down the resistance to make it easier for her but that's just pure conjecture on my part. Also, Ezra's slingshot is effectively a toy and stops being used the moment he builds his first 'saber.
Why would anyone use a laser bow instead of a regular old bullet shooting gun

After beating my yearly tradition of beating the old republic games every year around May, Ive felt the urge to get back into reading a bit. Was curious if anyone here had any good recommendations for some good EU books, im holding off on Jedi academy series for a while longer trying to find some other books. Already read the classics like the Thrawn trilogy and Dark empire, i've heard I, Jedi and The Last Jedi are pretty good if anyone can confirm, but always open to suggestions.

George Lucas himself publicly stated the Rebels were based on the Viet Cong as Lucas is yet another communist useful idiot.
The Rebels are revolutionaries from all backgrounds fighting to overthrow an oppressive government.

They are (and can be) every single revolutionary army in history. Maccabees, Yellow Turbans, Ikko-ikki, American militias, IRA, Soviet partisans, T.E. Lawrence’s Arabs, communist guerrillas, Muslim terrorist cells, etc.

No, they are specifically the Viet Cong because Lucas hated Nixon. Despite the Viet Cong being destroyed before Nixon became president lol

I, Jedi is good as long as you're ok with it retconning Corran Horn into the events of Jedi Academy.
Personal Suggestions, Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley, The Wraith Squadron series by Aaron Allston, Hand of Thrawn Duology by Timothy Zahn.
Personal favorite, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor by Matthew Stover. This one is especially relevant these days because it basically tells the story round head Rian thought he was telling. The Legend vs. The Man, what do you do when everything goes wrong? The conflict between Jedi and military service, etc...
Broad strokes here is anything by Stackpole, Allston, Zahn, Luceno or Stover is worth reading.

Aside from eating Chicom shit, Nixon had been one of the better if naive as fuck U.S. Presidents since Coolidge. which leads to the "Imperials weren't the bad guys" Star Wars fan sect. Given the documented and recorded atrocities the communist Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army had done including liquidating several million South Vietnamese and re-educating tens of millions more. Aside from skull-fucking the North Vietnam to the negotiation table, ending U.S. direct involvement in the war other providing South Vietnam ammunition and parts and iirc air support. What great fucking evil atrocity had Nixon done, and killing communists doesn't count?

And regardless of all attempts of modern authors to show otherwise, Disney wars shows the Empire objectively isn't as bad as the New Republic. The New Republic engages in 1984 entrapment measures to ensure loyalty while also unable to defend large swaths of the galaxy, probably because they labeled all the people that knew how math works as Imperial collaborators.

Or as Werner Herzog put it, "The Empire provides safety, security, trade opportunities, peace."

The Empire was similar to Libya when Gaddafi was still alive and in charge. Was it perfect no but it was heaven compared to what Libya is now with him dead. Or sticking with the "fascist" label, the people in Spain, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, and so on choose that side over the communists. As Franco, Pinochet and so on weren't the ones slaughtering everyone who were deem bourgeois, educated, religious and/or insufficiently devout on the communist purity stack.

We had this same discussion on this thread about 1000 pages and almost 3 years ago.

Understand the perspective of a young American liberal in California in the 1970s. The heroes of your youth are dead, shot down in the prior decade. Their goals lambasted as radical and insidious. Some of your political allies have turned to terrorism, engaging in the same violence you opposed. The public has adopted the safety, security, and order of Nixon. A lie as he has bombed Cambodia, overthrown democratic governments in Latin America, and kowtowed to corporate interests. He’s corrupt and duplicitous, but he’s ultimately a puppet for racists, the military-industrial complex, and all manner of American authoritarians.

Originally, Lucas wanted Palpatine to just be a politician, and that there was a bigger evil behind the throne. Thankfully he got rid of that idea and just made Palpatine the great evil, separating his analogy with Nixon.

I dunno, I probably would have been more interested in watching Mister Palpatine goes to Coruscant over TPM.
