Athough I might be triggered if they cast a sassy black woman to play Jareth in the upcoming Labyrinth remake.

According to what I read so far (I hope they are just rumors though), they are just going to change the nazis with commies and call it a day. They are also saying it's a sequel-reboot which I don't understand how could that possibly work. Anyway, it's a mess and if a big franchise like GhostBusters already tried this approach and failed miserably, I really think a movie with a smaller fanbase WON'T (edit) do any better.
As for Dobs, we all know he'll jump ship whenever someone says anything about "female lead". If only someone would do a Clockwork Orange with female leads, that would be interesting... and by "interesting" I mean porn. BDSM, gorey and rapey porn.

Has anyone actually confirmed the Rocketeer movie reboot is a real thing?
It sounds so ridiculous that I automatically doubt. It sounds like either someone said "Next thing you know they'll reboot 'Rocketeer' with a black female lead" or some SJW said "Now we should reboot Rocketeer with a black female lead!" and Dobson just decided that meant it was happening.
Sounds more like some Hollywood morons are kicking the idea around but it's not actually in development nor is anyone really serious about it, if it's "just rumors". Which probably means some no-talent black actress told some of her no-talent friends "I wanna be the Rocketeer!" and they all said "You go gurl!" and some drunk blogarazzi two tables over ran a story on it.

Well...
When you dig through medieval art, you'll sooner or later find depictions of black people here and there. They were certainly not unknown, but they were incredibly rare. Though it does depend, in places like southern France or Italy, at hubs of commerce, you'd spot a few trying to buy and sell stuff, I'd assume.

Historical precedence aside, Little John was never written as a black man and I guarantee you even if that's the route they take no character will ever questions his presence, character, or motivations because of his skin color.

Yeah, changing the skin color of an important character such as Little John in a setting such as the Robin Hood stories, it's bound to cause issues.
They could make a modern version set in Congo dealing with blood diamonds or some shit, that might actually be fucking awesome, but nope: "Representation matters, so here's some random black guy in a role for what should be a white character and it will change absolutely nothing - neither within the story nor IRL. Enjoy!"
God I hate these low-effort pandering changes...

It took a lot of shit but is actually pretty funny. Maybe it's not Blazing Saddles but it's a perfectly good Mel Brooks film. It's hit or miss in the sense that not every joke hits, but since there's one every 30 seconds or so the next one probably will.
