Keffals never learned the first rule of business: don't get high on your own supply. (Maybe quite literally in this case.)
TwitchCon was just where he learned the rule countless wannabe do nothing elites learn constantly: The Washington Post/The New York Times/Twitter Blue Check Circle Jerk has no power in much of the real world.
Take that socialist idiot Hasan, would he love to be feted by those people? Of course, but would he throw away his audience for it? No, because there's no actual profit in it. At something like TwitchCon, Hasan knows who the real powers of his career are and so he pursues them. If the others want to come along, great.
I think Keffals absolutely believed he could get elected as a Communist just by putting his name on the ballot and was surprised when he got merely hundreds of votes. I think he legitimately thought he was being lined up by the media to be some kind of high level commentator and was surprised when he continued to only get merely hundreds of viewers and not even other streamers or Twitter obsessives gave a shit despite his knowing that they all hop from momentary trend to momentary trend constantly. He expects to announce his intent to do something and immediately be rewarded and handed it or at minimum be handed the praise associated with success even if nothing actually happened. Actually work to achieve something? Nah, fuck that, even if it's as important as something like DIYHRT.
