The joys of running a non-profit org:
"... one of those family members was Paul Cullors, Patrisse's brother, who was paid a $126,000 salary as the head of security.
The bodyguard with no previous experience made a total of $1.6M between him and his two security companies."
And as you can see, timing is crucial:
"BLMGNF only raised $9.3 million in 2022, down from $77 million in 2021, and $90 million in 2020. "
Not mentioned in that article but other things you can do:
- Let a relative/friend build your website, network setup, IT support, ...
- Invite a relative/friend as a speaker and pay him a good fee.
- Invite a music band run by relatives/friends as and pay them a good fee.
- Catering
- ...
Of course those relatives/friends also have non-profits and they hire you as a consultant to do whatever stuff.
Bonus if you can find some volunteers who really believe in your cause and will work their ass off for free & maybe even make a donation.
If they take bottled water from your fridge then go on a rant for several minutes about how expensive stuff is these days and how you also can't understand
why people simply can't use tap water.
