Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Once again ignoring of course how the missile system works. There is a propulsion assembly that accelerates the payload. The Missile however is NOT a direct hit detonator. Like most Surface to Air Missiles, the Patriot is a proximity shrapnel weapon. An explosive charge spreads a cloud of shrapnel in the area the missiles guidance systems assumes an incoming threat will be. This detonation, while strong, is also directionally focused towards the target. Which means the propulsion system is usually not blown to smithereens and simply falls back to earth once its job is done.

In the picture the dread feline posted, you can even see this, where the front "cone" is obliterated, indicating where the system successfully deployed its payload, and some pockmarks on the propulsion assembly from incidental damage the missile took from its own chaff.

So you're telling me a Patriot Missile is actually a giant homing shotgun with a rocket motor? Fantastic.

Anyway FWIW that take seems to have come from ArmchairWarlord himself

Russia posted a report which is now deleted.

The following was in it:

Work with the new subjects of the Russian Federation

In the period from November 10 to December 2, 2022, the commission of the Ministry of Defense of Russia carried out work on inclusion of military commissariats of Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
An assessment of the main performance indicators of the military commissariats of the people's republics in Donbas testifies to their readiness to carry out their tasks as intended. Thus, from the Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic 79800 people were called up for mobilization, about 2 thousand units of vehicles were supplied.
So 80k DNR/LNR mobiks appears to be confirmed. Compared to Russia this is a much bigger fraction of the population.

Regarding Trump, I don't think letting Putin run wild and US conceding the ground on geopolitical stage to another entity falls within the purview of "America First/MAGA" agenda.
If nothing else, Trump would at the very least be upset about Putin taking up all the headlines.
France's positive relationship, which is still tinged by colonial memories, did not happen overnight. They had to change how they approached West Africa in order to retain influence. Spain lost its Latin American colonies in spectacular fashion, with military force. They rebuilt this influence by accepting the loss and changing tact.

If Russia had developed internally instead of going full Tsardom II: Vodka Bugaloo they could have developed on the shared experience on moving on from the Soviet times to rebuild its connections to Eastern Europe. Due to its economic and population potential, which internal developments would have capitalized on, the natural gravity would have pulled Eastern Europe and Central Asia towards them.

The granular details of who, what, where, when, and why Russia went back to the Empire after the 90s will probably take some hindsight, but no doubt involving many Oligarchs and Soviet Apparatchiks. It might be seen as one of the first great tragedies of the 21st century.
Basically, if Boris Nemtsov became a president like Yeltsin wanted, instead of mongoloid Putler.
So how's the war going? is Z-man still begging for US Dollars?
Ziggers pretending like Stalin didn't cry for aid, getting unprecedented amount of materiel during WW2 and then generations of Russians acting as if Lend-Lease didn't happen and they totally won all by themselves.
Fuck off with that shit, retard.

As for Feline, that dumbass is browsing this thread as is, impotently negrating from time to time.

Just a heads up, since this has happened a couple of times, I think I need to make a post on the matter. For calling out posters in the other thread:

1) It is NOT appropriate to do it in the partitioned threads. Please do not do it as you are basically asking to derail the discussion

2) Since the discussion is split, if you want to call out a specific poster please, for the love of Christ do it in:

3) Don't be coy and be like 'I just want their opinion'. I'm not a fucking retard despite being a moderator, I know what you're doing and you do too.

The discussion of this is toxic enough without shot calling from either side. This post will also go in the other thread. You don't need to respond to me, since I don't want to derail discussion. Nobody's getting punished or anything. Just, for the sake of keeping everything sane, show a bit of common sense with your shit-posting. This has been a generic, totally neutral public service announcement from your local moderator. If you keep doing this shit, beatings will continue until morale improves. k thx.

I feel for them. Russian Federation just gobbled up their territory along with the people, and as per Putin's decree, you either accept Russian passport and citizenship or get deported (alternatively, you're probably designated as a rebel/nazi and get treated accordingly - if you're a military age male, good luck getting out), so anyone who just wanted to stay and live a normal life is fucked.
Their population is gonna be used up and replaced. To local Russia simps, enjoy your Russkiy mir, dumbasses.

Although I was under the impression that much of their male population was already utilized as cannon fodder, I guess this is all that's left.

There is this twitter thread about how those who have been wounded in combat , is not getting paid composition by the leadership of these fake countries. This also extend to the families of those who lost their family members in combat.
Would anyone be surprised if the moral in the DNR and LNR is going down faster then the two towers?
the author of that thread used this telegram channel as his source: https://t.me/astrapress/28564

So I finally got an answer to my question about what is wrong with the Russian air defense. Is it bad that? Yes the Russian air defense is that. They supposedly moved a lot of it to Ukraine. I personally think the Russian air defense isn't exactly bad. But they don't see any threat from the West so they probably didn't keep one up to the levels they should have. This totally discredits the excuse the Russians and vatniggers make for the war. That the US/NATO/West is a threat to Russia so they have to invade Ukraine. There are other things that prove this excuse is BS. But this is the one display now. The Russian air defense system is either very awful or they just don't have much of one because they don't feel like they are under any threat.

Zelenskyy say that Ukraine is ready for the counter offensive.
snippet:
ODESA, Ukraine—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was now ready to launch a long-awaited counteroffensive but tempered a forecast of success with a warning: It could take some time and come at a heavy cost.
“We strongly believe that we will succeed,” Zelensky said in an interview in this southern port city as his country’s military girded for what could be one of the war’s most consequential phases as it aims to retake territory occupied by Russia.
“I don’t know how long it will take,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “To be honest, it can go a variety of ways, completely different. But we are going to do it, and we are ready.”
note, I tried to download the fucking video but WSJ are assholes and won't let me :(

Missel go up.
Missel explode.
Missel fragments vaporise and dissapear? No, missel fragments have to go somewhere. And gravity points down.
Missel fragments on ground now.

Is this so hard to understand?? But instead, no, somehow that's BAD
Some missiles do have a secondary trigger that detonates any remaining propellant. Its especially common on Russian ones, IIRC, which is why its easy for them to look at a discarded chunk of metal and think NATO goofed with the intercept.
So you're telling me a Patriot Missile is actually a giant homing shotgun with a rocket motor? Fantastic.
All anti-air missiles are. You're trying to hit a really small target traveling really fast, so your only real hope is to get close enough to skeet shoot it. Doesn't really matter if you only partially damage it since at high speed chances are good its going to tear itself apart from the wind resistance, and at minimum its going to start deviating from its course.

In potato quality:

Also:
"The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) military counterintelligence unit destroyed the Russian BUK-M1 anti-aircraft missile complex and three TOR-2M missile systems units. It also destroyed three Nona self-propelled guns, three BMPs, two tanks, and an electronic warfare station."
Looks like the TORs and the BUK were destroyed by the Switchblade 600, judging from the high-quality video interface.

Again, Ukraine was a corrupt slavic shithole. Russia could have just softpowered their way back into control, and given Ukraine whatever it was they wanted to stop talking about NATO. And Russia wouldn't have had to take that step if they hadn't been little bitches about Ukraine signing a trade agreement with the EU and let it happen instead of trying to blockade Ukraine - their puppet would still be dictatoring it up if they hadn't done that.
I liken the Russian government being the guy in Vegas that hits a jackpot on the slots then ends the night gambling his winnings then hitting the ATM until he hits his withdrawal limit. All they had to do was wait a few years for the EU to be totally dependent on Russian gas, the Biden Administration to collapse on their own social justice and tranny idiocy as well as the fall of Afghanistan and still have a military deterrent that was unchecked and assumed to be a neer peer threat to the US. I wonder if that half Nigerian Obama would have pushed for intervention in Ukraine back in 2014 if we knew how incompetent the Russian government was.

So technically, Patriot PAC-3 are hit-to-kill. So technically some Patriots are/can be impact detonation.

However, the Patriots that have been given to Ukraine are Patriot PAC-2 anyways, so still "shotgun"/"splash damage" style proximity fuse.

At this point the Ukrainian counter-offensive is basically "Boy Who Cried Wolf" except in this story the boy is in on it with the wolf.

If I were his adviser I would've, well, advised against mentioning any offensive and making absolutely no promises not even implied, and I said a number of times in the thread that the focus on the counteroffensive is unproductive.
It gives the financially stressed and already kinda irritated Westerners something to watch for as if it's a football game they have invested in, when in fact it's a very serious war of attrition against a much larger enemy.
If something happens, like Kherson, great, if it does not, life's tough, war and death even tougher.

Tagging users you are talking shit about is usually good form, but not when there's a discussion split. That's just poking the bear and inviting gay passive-aggressive posting vendetta behavior. @WhiteNight has it right, no need to tag them and invite them or their zigger brethern/socks to come shit up this thread.

If threadbanned from the other, bad thread and you wish to laugh in the faces of the people who post there, there is a free-for-all thread where you can have slap fights with posters from the other, bad thread to your hearts content without shitting up discussion.

Tag them there.

Apologies. I'll refrain in the future.

While I agree that he should have said nothing, I understand why he did. Zelensky knows that there's a contingent of morons in the west who basically don't understand the gravity of this situation and want the U.S. to stop footing the bill of this war, along with some European pussies who want to go back to buying Russian oil and gas like the little bitches they are. So he needs to keep public interest in the war and mollify his allies one or another. That, and he probably figures that Russia is already on high alert for a counteroffensive anyway, so whether he says anything or not doesn't really matter.
