Louis Rossmann just put out a video on the API situation.
Two interesting things:
  1. Reddit gets $0.12/person/month, and they're charging $2.50/person/month to use the API
  2. Saydrah, back in the day, got DRAGGED for marketing on reddit, but now it's the default
My god he looks like hell these days :( Right (and entertaining) as he is, I feel like he needs to take a break for his own sanity.

Also, I'm surprised Reddit earns even that much from its users. Redditors are notoriously cheap (and it's well-established they're the least valuable users as a group among each social media platform's group of users) and I marvel at the optimism the owners are displaying that these same cheap-ass people will pay reddit just to avoid reddit's own shitty app.

I believe at $0.12/month per user they're one of the least profitable companies in that area.

I wonder what counts as a "user" though.

Someone posted the actual analytics a long while ago, maybe 2018. The vast majority of people with Reddit accounts just use it as a news aggregator. They don't visit the comments. These are obviously not the people buying gold or plat to give to people as a massive updoot agree.

I'm sure the upper 1% of userbase spend looks hilarious.

I really hope this shit comes back to bite them in court someday. This clearly shows that reddit is not organic and they will replace mods of subreddits if they want to. They banned a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of people that were mods they didn't like to get people they liked in control of subreddits.
And the people they like are pedophiles, like that one troon they defended to the point of half of Reddit going private mode in protest a couple years back. I really want Reddit to die as a company, they're massive shitheads.

Also @larossmann about his video on Reddit, there's a massive rabbit hole when it comes to Reddit and all the shit they do that awful for freedom. Which is sad as one of their original founders was much more pro freedom of speech, but he offed himself.

Reguardless of your thoughts on the holocaust, I believe there is a difference between shoving people in camps and using them for hard labor vs telling trannies you'll be fined if you go in the wrong restroom.

Don't mind me, just posting this for no reasons.

Also, anyone else remember after that one reddit AMA person got fired? I seem to recall something happening after.
There was actually a blackout in protest of that action. Ellen Pao was removed as CEO soon after. There were news articles framing the entire blackout as a sexist revolt. That the big weakness of reddit. All of the most popular subreddits are still ultimately owned by users.

Bigtime jannies are apparently getting this message advertising a talk with spez, sodypop, and a panel of mods (presumably powermods favored by the admins). Will spez bend the knee or crack the whip and tell the autists to shut up or be replaced?
Also it's at 9AM Pacific time. They know the gigajannies don't have jobs, lmao.

9AM?? What a ridiculous hour! Should at least be 2PM, so they can roll out of bed.

I don't think the jannies understand that the third-party apps were largely parasitic, even though they're admittedly much better than the official reddit webshit app. They show their own ads, charge subscription fees, collect user data, and prevent reddit from effectively spying on users operating outside their app's trackers, and all for a small API fee. It must have been a decent grift, outdoing reddit soyware is pretty much trivial in every way, especially ux. I use redditisfun and I haven't noticed a change in years, it's basically free money while reddit does all the actual work.

6 million Jews dead, trannies most effected. I can't wait to see the trannycaust museum display of dilators instead of shoes. It almost makes you wonder.. why didn't they just burn the shoes too?

That's reddit's fault for failing to monetize properly and making their website unprofitable by stacking the entire place with communists. Reddit does all the work? Please, reddit is infamously slow to fix things and they rely on the entire website existing with this entire illusion of it being entirely organic and user-driven.

Many of the powermod-led subs do not appear to be participating yet, so time will see if they can get enough subs blacked out to cause a problem. Regardless of who wins, we win.
This is definitely going to be successful, a multi-million dollar social media company which is second to Twitter on engagement, news feeding and toxicity from normies vs bunch of tranny jannies in their dusty basement with adult diapers and piss stains.
