I can't say I'm surprised at the bad PR they've gotten from this year's Pride collection, considering they (initially) partnered with an artist who sells a shirt on their personal business site that says "Satan Respects Pronouns". You honestly expect something like that to not get noticed by the culture warrior types? Yeah, a great way to try and win people over and show that LGBTQ+ people aren't all out to groom your kids is to hire someone who speaks positively about the Satanic Temple in the context of LGBTQ+ culture, surely that will change hearts and not reinforce negative stereotypes. */sarcasm* Good luck to Target in trying to shed that off of their backs in the years to come.

Satanic Panic never truly went away, it's taken on different forms on both sides of the political and ideological spectrums.

My point is that something as blatant as "Satan Respects Pronouns" is not the best example to convince people that LGBTQ+ individuals (of which I am one, for what little it's worth) aren't out to "groom" or abuse children, because it only reinforces the negative narratives, much in the same way, say, Ezra Miller's bullshit has made it even harder for non-binary individuals who aren't batshit crazy in daily life (an oxymoron to some here lmao) to be taken remotely seriously.
