Naby Keita from Liverpool joins Werder Bremen.

Edit: Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig is joining FC Bayern but this deal was already kind of sealed during the season bc his contract with RB Leipzig is ending.

True but you have to admit the Italian teams were very fortunate in the knockout stage draws of the CL. They didn't have to go up against Bayern, Madrid, City, etc. I didn't follow Europa as closely but if I'm not mistaken, no Italian team had to play Arsenal or even United. Then Juve (3rd best Italian team in terms of points) shit the bed against Sevilla (ranked 12th in La Liga).

If Harry Maguire winds up in Milan or Turin next year (apparently both Milan clubs and Juve are interested), you will have no choice but admit I'm right about Serie A being shit lol.

All that being said, I'm starting to get nervous Inter will upset City. Their goalkeeper is in top form and they've been solid defensively. They're playing with house money and that can be dangerous.
You might be shit, but you are the least shit among the other main continent leagues.

The funny thing about the Conference League is that, besides money, the goal of it was to promote the smaller leagues (Malta, Cyprus, Greece, etc) and give their teams a chance to compete in Europe but 2 years in, the top 5 leagues and Netherlands are already dominating it.
Honestly I don't think even the suits expected international viewers to be interested in domestic league matches in Gibraltar or Cyprus but the one thing it does provide is an opportunity for younger players of those leagues to impress on an international stage.

If nothing else this contest would help a good young Finnish talent for example to gain interest from bigger leagues. It's not entirely robust but almost nobody besides locals and fans would watch players from those clubs anyway.

C'mon Inter, the world is counting on you to stop the Arabian propaganda machine.
Everyone except Juve supporters. We're down bad and if Inter somehow pulls this off, I'll be gutted. I have to admit that as the day approaches, I'm starting to get nervous. Onana is in top form and this game will get tense for City the longer it stays scoreless. I'm counting on Haaland to come through, he's due for some goals.

I imagine all of Inter's biggest local rivals (Juve, Milan, Roma, Lazio, Napoli, etc) will be rooting for Man City tomorrow.

I would too, if my team's archrival was playing there. It always sucks to see your rival winning the biggest titles while your team is down on its luck, specially because they will be gloating about it for a long time.

4 games drought, that's probably a record for him.

Leeds being sold for £170mil to the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL, because for some reason the team has an investment fund. The funniest part however:
The previous agreement, which depended on their top-flight survival, was worth about £400m - but negotiations restarted following their drop to the second tier.
Losing more than half the value of the deal has gotta hurt.

Well, let's just say that Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest can will longer effectively do "Champions of Europe, you'll never sing that" chants against City.

But seriously, congrats to Pep for his second-ever treble throughout his managerial career.

After that insane City-Madrid match, the final was total dogshit.

I just hope that actually winning the CL is going to stop City from being a bunch of absolute fucking pussies when it comes to big games. For a team as good as they are, they really crumble mentally in big knock out games (some of their recent CL eliminations have been pathetic) and the only thing stopping them fumbling in the final was seeing Inter play probably their worst game of the entire campaign.

Honestly it's like watching Spain back in 2010 when they had their entire Barcelona core but were terrified of winning a match by more than one goal. You know they could push and finish the game off but they're unable to get past the mental block of slightly changing their rigid formation.

The fear of losing is greater than the excitement of winning. That's why we constantly see shitty finals now.

Inter lost 12 games in a weak Serie A this season. So while they weren't great in the final, they've had worse moments this year.

Argentina v. France was the only good final I can think of in the past few years. All the others have been pretty shit.

I can't think of any other final either, unless you consider games like Real Madrid 5x3 Al Hilal, lol.

And it makes sense, tbh. The teams aren't there to put on a show for the people watching, they are there to win the game and the title, so they will use whatever tactic/strategy suits them best (though, I do think Inter could have got something better if they had been more offensive before City scored, just like they were after it).

But if they go offensive before City scored, they would have opened too much space. It was only after City scored when space was opened because City started defending like crazy, something they never do. City became extremely nervous and did something they never do, get a full defensive shape right in their own half

Reminds me of something I saw on The Ultimate Fighter, years and years ago. For those that don't know TUF is a reality show for MMA fighters, and the top prize is a guaranteed contract with the UFC. One year the president of the UFC, Dana White, appeared on the show and went on a huge rant about fights being boring and how the fighters didn't want it. Personally I always saw it as the opposite, they wanted it so much they didn't wanna risk it. Sure some of the losers also got contracts, but it was never guaranteed they would, and they weren't as good moneywise. Why would they risk losing, or even just getting injured, doing something flashy, when they can just lay n pray the dude for two rounds and go through safely?
