My usual method for that if it does anything (many current ISPs no longer support it) is to clone the MAC address from another device on the network, something some routers support in the UI by just pushing a button, and then restarting, which on some ISPs will force a change of IP.I'm assuming Shane tried another already known MAC Address rather than dig into his vault of high level computing junk and attach a truly random ass thing the network has never seen before.
Last time I needed to do that was over a decade ago when I was shit-talking some Romanian kid who was boasting about his botnet, which he apparently actually had because he DDoSed the fuck out of me. So I had to change IP and come back this time behind a proxy (pretty dumb being on irc with an exposed IP in the first place).
