Magic The Gathering

Now do Obama, W. Bush, Clinton and Reagan next.
Ok, finally got some time to do this...

Just...

I'm starting to feel for Glorfindel as he keeps getting shafted in every adaption.

Why the fuck are the Elves Simic..and why the holy fuck do they have a theme around scrying?
MaRo actually answered that in his first article:

Before vision design was done, we had one last problem to solve. There were lots of Humans, Hobbits, and Elves to fill white and green. There were Goblins, Orcs, and Wraiths aplenty to fill black and red. The problem color was blue. Yes, Gandalf made sense in blue, and there were plenty of magic spells for the instants and sorceries. The challenge was the creatures. Blue could have some Humans, and there were one-offs, like a Kraken.
In the end, the solution we liked was putting the Elves in both green and blue. While blue is not traditionally an Elf color, we felt philosophically they made sense being partially blue on Middle-earth. One of the things we like to do in planes is find places where we can shift creature types outside of their normal colors when it flavorfully makes sense, and Elves fit in blue for The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth.
As vision design wrapped up, we handed over a Ring mechanic, amass Orcs, and green-blue Elves, but there was a lot of work left be done, which I'll talk about next week in part two.

Also, I thought it funny that as soon as I hit the MTG website...

Oh sure - talk about how noble you are for blackwashing, but still lead with a picture of the busty blonde white girl for the click bait!

She's apparently a thicc Ozolith on a stick.

Okay..how so?

It's literally the River Scene in the movies isn't it?
Well we all know Galadriel's mirror is the reason they got the scrying theme so... yeah, that's probably the reason. (that or them running the boats to the gray havens)

They also are the only people that can sail boats back to magical elf live forever land. I actually think the scrying thing makes sense, because the elves always know way too much about what happens near them through magical means. UNFORTUNATELY it makes more sense for black because scrying is literally Sauron's entire schtick during the main books.

It's actually a crime that none of the Sauron cards say "if a creature an opponent controls becomes the ringbearer scry 2"

They also are the only people that can sail boats back to magical elf live forever land.
Isn't that more of a thing about..knowing where Magical Elf Land is because it's magical Elf Land?

I fucking hate the internet.

Haven't decided yet. The slayer of communism gets something extra special.

So anyway, MTG posted an article about "pride month!"

Yeah but we all know how stores would react if I showed up with this playmat...

(or something really degenerate)
Unironically better than the official pairing since Chandra is going to Domestically Abuse the shit out of Nissa and we all know it.

At least Liliana and Chandra would even out the abuse.

Worst part of MtG:A being cringe redditor bullshit about text chat in my children's card game is that I wasn't able to shitpost "A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to," at my opponent when I resolve Gandalf and then use him double cast a bounce spell that returns his 2 defenders to hand during a draft game I played mostly for F2P economy reasons.
