Inactive Nick Bate / Nickalaus B. Stoutzenberger - (Thread 3: JUDGEMENT DAY)

Let's bet how much Sick Nick will last in prison before he finally kicks the bucket or offs himself.

View attachment 88537

We're not doing the death pool, only because it's patently obvious he isn't going to make it much longer than a year before being murdered. Dumb fuck couldn't even keep his mouth shut in front of the judge. He'll be telling this retarded "Actually, I like shit!" story to everyone hoping they'll believe him.

A normal sex offender only stands half a chance at surviving an overcrowded prison. Nick Bate isn't a normal person.

His body might survive longer than a year. His mind won't. But his body might survive the entire sentence, and for the exact reason you said.

Full disclosure, I'm not involved with any correctional facilities, or know anything about the law, or etc. But it's pretty obvious that Nick is weird. Weird enough that throwing him to the wolves is a legal question mark, and one that might be easier to avoid just by not letting Nick interact with much at all. Staring at a cell wall for 23 hours a day is intense for a relatively normal person. For someone from the "Overstimulated Tumblrista" generation, Nick's psyche is going to shatter into bits.

Physically he might come through though.

This would require him to have much of a mind to begin with. Will be like smashing an already busted window.

Replace "mind" with "Expects to have a connection to the internet at all times", which, shit, is true of all of us.

I have a spouse and a kid and a job and hobbies. You try to take my net connection offline and I'll fucking cut you.

With Nick, it's literally all he has. If he does survive, he's going to be dead inside in a way most of us can't really understand.

How do things like combative behaviour (ie. refusing to bathe, etc.) play into this? Just curious if that type of stuff is considered when dealing out sentencing.
For instance, say he insists on wallowing in filth and generally being a nuisance for his entire stay; would they be able to tack on more time, or is 40 years the max?
I know if he commits a crime in prison, they'll add time on, but am unsure how behaviour works. I mean, I know one can be released early due to good behaviour, but what about the inverse?
Or is this where stuff like nutriloaf come into play?

Sorry, the penal system in Canada is very different, so I'm genuinely curious.

I should probably watch Oz again.

-Edit to address the dogs in the photos-

Cell sweeps include drug sniffing dogs.

40 years is the max. Sentencing depends on a combination of how the judge feels that day, victim impact statements, and mandatory minimums.

He was given 16.5 to 40 years. This means that he needs to serve 16.5 years at a minimum, before he's eligible for parole. He's not getting out before that at all. After, it's up to a parole board to determine if he ever comes out before the 40 years are up. It's conceivable that they'll deny him every single parole opportunity since he's an extreme case and danger to society, so Nick really is looking at the full 40 years.

You have to be relatively squeaky clean to get parole...and we know how un-squeaky clean Nick is.
If he gets into an altercation with any other inmate, this will also hurt his parole chances.

But let's imagine Nick getting out in 17 years on parole...he still has to check in with his P.O. every so often (whatever they decide) AND he has to register as a sex offender for a very very very very long time after that. Some people seem upset that he "only" got 16.5 years until Parole; but parole, as you said, isn't guaranteed. It's not a right, it's not a promise, it's not owed. It's a privilege an inmate has to earn.

And that's if he lives long enough. Pedophiles don't have a good history of making it out alive.

Not to mention as a sex offender he's going to have to go through countless hours of therapy and classes.

I'm going to have to keep an eye on msnbc's lock up filming schedule.

and nothing of any value will be lost. I'll have this song on standby when we get the good news

It's been almost a full year since Nick was arrested so he's already been in jail for nearly a year now. I'd dare say that his mind has already snapped.

Pay attention to local media articles. If they mention Nick was emotionless during the sentencing, then his mind may have already broken. If they mention Nick broke down in tears, then it hasn't yet (or just did).

I'm going to lock this thread as its subject no longer exists.

Oh good, I can stop threadbanning all the retards who keep spamming reaction gifs/vids.

If someone visits Nick in prison or writes him a letter that he responds to, make a talk to staff and we'll unlock this thread.

I'm just updating this while not opening it.

Nick is finally in his permanent home, or at least, the public Pennsylvania inmate database is finally indicating it. He is in SCI Camp Hill to serve the balance of his sentence.

Nick's in a new location. SCI Benner. There's nothing particularly notable about this prison.

Also his sex offender mugshot.

He has that haunted look so many of these reviled offenders get if you look at their mugshots from year to year.

No more thumbs-up smirk, Nick? Burn in Hell.

Also, there's a fair amount of activity on the docket since the conviction and sentencing.

Not really worth much detail, but he lost a post-conviction motion and the judge issued an opinion a couple days ago on July 28, but it isn't a published opinion so I don't know what it says. The short is he lost so he'll have to wait for the appeals court, where he'll probably lose, too.
