That's... The mods on RPG.net have made stronger statements about groups of people all the time. I can't even think of any other way you could possibly phrase that statement to be more "political" and cautionary.

These dumb fuckers unironically think that Africa would look like Wakanda if not for European colonization, and ignore all the evidence otherwise. To really push the punchline, a lot of the Natives are so fucking stupid that they destroyed Colonial-Era infrastructure for a quick buck, and they still insist that their poverty is entirely because somebody gathered resources they never bothered to gather before.

Yes and no. That's not fair. Serfs at least were obligated to protection and holiday benefits, even if they didn't always get them. I've never seen an "ally" get anything other than a backhanded thanks for their work.

What am I saying, of course there is.

If you look up the flags, a number of them existed way before all the other ones, because they were for subcultures within the gay community. Like leather, and lesbian, and bear, and bisexual. Leather makes more sense in that way, because it's a gay fetish within being gay, there's some history with leather and the gay movement, it's a whole thing that I don't really know anything about except that it's a whole thing.

But the point was they were separate and more specific, not like the 'progressive' flag, which wants to make sure some groups are more included than others by having them on the flag more than once. Or all the flags that aren't about being a subculture, fetish or otherwise, while being under the umbrella of the gay rainbow, because they're about snowflake identities and genders. I'm sure if you looked up the dates of their creation, the leather flag would be decades before the asexual flag, because one's about guys looking to bang, something they've been doing forever, and the other is about Tumblr types pretending that it's voluntary that they're not banging.

Why you'd need to signal this on RPGNet is pointless, as they're all prudish libertines - sex work is totes valid but sexual desire from men, unless they're pretending they're women, is a bannable offence. Tl;dr: When we say 'but it's not a fetish' about troons, with the leather stuff it is, unapologetically, a fetish. But they at least don't insist on being specifically represented on the generic gay flag, because they acknowledge that they're already represented by the gay flag but want to be more specific, rather than wanting everyone to know they're separate and better and pretending it's not about being a terminal coomer.
