How difficult would it be snap a selfie?
Exactly. It makes perfect sense for Prigozhin to not reveal himself. He doesn't want to give away his location. If this is real, and at this point, considering the utter chaos that seems to be erupting within Russia, I believe it is, then the last thing he wants to do is pinpoint his own location. On the other hand, had he been arrested, they would be parading him around by now, and his "coup" would have been immediately crushed.Given how selfies - either geotag data, IDing people in the background or landmark triangulation - have been involved in pretty much every single giant own in this conflict with the (somehow) exception of the sinking of the Moskva, I'm going to say that's good opsec.
The Russian Military? Based on everything we've seen over the past year and a half... they don't bother even attempting to avoid it. They just shoot. Whatever it hits is somebody else's problem. How do they avoid friendly fire?
Maybe we'll get lucky and a Russkie missile will flatten Parliament and create enough confusion for Caroline Farrow to escape.there's never a wrong time to stomp on brits tbh
Its highly unlikely Wagner would betray Russian interests. Wagner is basically a PMC-in-name-Only, its basically an extension of the Russian government where the Russian government cannot officially be involved. The entirety of the PMC are Russian ex-special forces as well as Russian Ex-MoD officials. The most foreign of its fighters are from Chechnya if you could even consider that 'foreign'. It still has a lot of enemies in the Russian MoD as per Russian politics. No one wants to make them look more successful and its entirely possible the MOD has tried to kill Wagner's success (literally) and Progohzin finally got fed up with it and went for their throat. If it's not some sort of diversion \ gayop (if it is - chapeau bas, Ruskies) - Wagner are mercenaries. Someone - probably from the inside - just offered a better contract than Putin has.
For the love of fuck no.Do we need a third "Russian Special Military Operation against the Russian Special Military Operation" thread?
This is one of many likely scenarios. A lot of people are incompetent and untouchable in the Russian MoD and its unlikely Putin could push them out without something like this happening. The FSB just allowing them through is suspect, especially when they're screaming about a coup. What if Putin secretly wants this? Maybe he wants to see who can be a more competent minister of defense so he takes a Russian approach to this: battle it out between Prigozhin and Shoigu.
Prigozhin smells blood in the river; Shoigu is the weak link in the Russian elite. If Prigozhin can successfully use his army to counteract Shoigu, he might remove the Shoigist faction of Putin’s regime. Its highly unlikely Wagner would betray Russian interests.
