I'm thinking about the larger scenario. People have been talking about Ukraine considering a dirty bomb or a nuclear attack to trigger article 5 of NATO, which means they are thinking of everything. But what if you could just coerce in some way the main PMC that's doing the work in Ukraine? You could just turn him straight back at Putin. We don't need to get our hands dirty now.

It is morning in Russia, so let's make a list of what has been confirmed.

• Wagner showed up in Rostov and occupied the Ministry of Defense building with no resistance and no disruption to the regular civilian activities.
• Prigozhin had a conversation with general Alekseev, which went fairly smoothly despite the sides being unhappy with one another. Prigozhin has an axe to gind with Shoigu and Gerasimov.
• Putin made an address where he condemned the insurgency, called it a betrayal stemming from unchecked ambitions, recalled 1917 and said the armed forces were given orders to crack down on the instigators of the rebellion.
• The Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet made their move.
• Prigozhin changed his rhetoric once again and is now saying the war should continue despite saying the opposite just a few days ago.

So what does this leave us with?

• The insurgency appears to be genuine.
• It was completely unexpected by everyone, including Putin, Ukraine and the collective West.
• Prigozhin actual motives aside from the stated removal of Gerasimov and Shoigu are unclear.
• The insurgency was condemned by Putin and the army, but the rest of the politicians and other branches of the government remain neutral.

Technically, Shoigu and Gerasimov can hand in their resignations to let Putin save face and prevent a civil war. I am sure more negotiations are underway. There are two outcomes now, a settlement or a military escalation. What a time to be alive.

He's wanting Putin to fire the guys who could be seen as fucking up the war effort to begin with. You know, the ones who did absolutely nothing against Ukraine's rear-line logistics for about a year. Russia isn't winning any war right now, all they are doing is not losing since the enemy sees no problem in funding the war for years and years to come until the last Ukrainian is either dead or a rapefugee in the West.
