Alan Fisher is seething over the fact that Democrats in his state aren't going fast enough to ban all cars in the country, so he's crying about them and thinks that they're secret Republicans or something like that. I just wonder why he would support democrats in the first place if he's supposed to be a leftist and democrats are according to him and his fellow leftists "A right wing party".

I have been car shopping lately and one thing I’ll give fuckcars credit for is god damn Americans like big cars and it’s just gotten worse.

All I want is the last 15 years of fuel efficiency tech stuffed into a reasonably light chassis with low ground clearance and the pickings are slim in the US, especially compared to Europe.

My brain has started calling station wagons “estate cars” because 9 times out of 10 the wagon version of a commuter sedan is Europe exclusive and that’s what they call it over there. I feel dirty.
Low ground clearance is getting hard to find everywhere.

Honestly, give the Prius a SERIOUS look, or the Camry or Corolla hybrid, depending on how much size you want.

Outside of that, a RAV4 or Corolla cross hybrid, a Subaru Crosstrek ( a hybrid comes out next year) or a Ford Maverick hybrid or Ford Escape hybrid although these options are higher off the ground than the first three choices mentioned.

I’m slowly resigning myself to the fact my next car will likely be a Prius or Prius C.

If I could get high 30’s mpg in a Mazda 3, that’d be my choice, but the total savings over 8-10 years is really nothing to sneeze at, even if the hybrid is more expensive.

I’m just not convinced we’re even close to the limit on conventional gasoline efficiency even while accommodating modern safety and emission standards.

We just love giant ass high drag cars.

Mazda3 has pretty low ground clearance. Source: got stuck in snow in the street after shovelling the driveway and years of driving a CR-V

So when did said Democrats sign campaign promises to limit or eliminate personal car use?

I am guessing with Pennsylvania being a battleground state a promise to reduce private vehicle ownership was not a campaign promise nor something these politicians actively supported.

Right on Jason, I say we triple their salaries!
Now they'll do it for three.
I've taken public transportation to work in a nice area and it was just tolerable
I just like being able to sit down in an air-conditioned environment, but I've genuinely never been as comfortable on a train or bus as I have in a car. Classic rail stock looks far more comfortable, but I guess when you have comfy seats the vagrants would prefer to stay on the train than loiter around outside and it'll cut into the profits.

hint: 3 across car seat.
Or get a 3 row minivan, it's literally what they were designed for.

NGL, Brightline in Florida is pretty fucking nice even compared to Business Class on Amtrak. But a significant amount on NJB or FuckCars userbase hate it as it's privately owned and not socialized / government owned.

The reason for this hated is because a disperportionate amount of the FuckCars / NJB are socialists; as such they cannot stand it when private business outperforms the public option.

@quaawaa

I remember seeing the truck parked on a NL street too, I'm so glad I'm not the only one that saw it as kinda pathetic Euro cope. In the same thread they mention they have some apartments that are smaller than 300 square feet and they think that's a point of pride somehow.

We stretch ourselves out far and wide so we are comfortable. You shove yourselves into the tiniest little box you can and still feel guilty about it. And you think we ought to listen to you. Hillarious.

Their response is that living in a large accommodations makes one lonely, less likely to socialize, less likely to care about others, and less liberal.

I believe that it's true to an extent. They don't want you to have a nice yard where you can enjoy your afternoon or grill.

They want you to live in cube, have to ask permission (apply) to get a space in an urban park or go to a third space, look at all their rainbow (Pride) / BLM shit, have to put up with their degeneracy or no service, and have to deal with vagrants / criminals (so you will be more inclined to support tax increase).

I swear, part of their motivation for the urbanism movement is to get people in the suburbs to move in so their lifestyle is paid for by your taxes.

If you want a perfect example of what a high-trust society would look like in the USA, get inside a small airport that caters to private planes.

Fixed base operators will just throw you the keys to the crew car while they fill your plane with fuel, you can drive into town, or ride the bikes or do whatever you want, because it's all high-trust and the prices involve keep the riff-raff out.

They don't know what a shindig is or have friends to invite them to shindigs on a nice plot of grass where you can enjoy good company and booze and char grilled meats. Hell meats would probably make them quiver and buckle.

Well, they do get to know where your plane is while you take the rusted out former police car to the BBQ place in town. Although it is fun going to the big airport and they hand you the keys to something not made entirely of rust.
Some of the smaller places you can even call and after hours they'll hide the keys somewhere for you or give you the code to the lock box.

Admittedly this can become too much of an open secret as I am aware of one crew car which was 'borrowed' by a non-pilot and found burned a couple days later. I'm pretty sure they have improved their security slightly since then,

I always feel bad for kids that look like they're getting roped into these situations by their progressive parents. If this thing gets hit by a bus with the kids in it, you just know fuckcars is going to blame muh kArBrAiNz. You can tell these kids probably wish they were sitting inside a minivan like normal people.

It's honestly crazy how children's car seats for kids have to be put through so much rigorous testing for safety, yet it's perfectly legally fine to strap your kids into this plastic tub with cheap nylon straps.

/r/fuckcars mods are still protesting reddit's API changes. Their latest idea is to only allow posts about CityNerd (a knockoff of the lame idea other subs had of only allowing posts about John Oliver):

They also call themselves bikebrains, which is odd because I thought ____brain was an insult.

The users are not happy:

They originally wanted to make Jason their Lord and Savior but he refused:

or more likely, the mods assumed that he would refuse if asked, because they didn't ask CityNerd for permission:

LMAO what a shitshow, this is the funniest shit I've seen in a while. How they managed to make a shitty sub even shittier is beyond me. I'm glad I'm posting on a normal site and not one where, IDK, to protest ISPs dropping us Nool told everyone to spam pictures of the wikihow dog.

Redditors didn't ask John Oliver for permission either. What's the worst that could happen, Jason would throw a bitchfit and disavow r/fuckcars or something? That's way too optimistic and would never happen.

The diffrence between KF and Reddit is that KF is still small enough that a bitch fit will draw the attention and ire of Null himself. Reddit on the otherhand is the internet equivalent to urbansprawl so protests in the smaller parts of the site isn't going to get the attention of the head admins, instead getting policed by local jannies.
