I saw a suggestion years ago on an sa-offshoot as a suggestion to make sa great again, I wonder if it would help reddit, it wouldn't fix things but maybe help:

Mods do all official modding duties using an account like "PoliticsSubMod#3".

Their regular reddit account has no power, will not be listed in any mod list and as a mod they're not allowed to mention their normal account name and vice versa. Break up some favoritism cliques a bit, dehumanize the on-duty mod, make them see themselves more of a "cog", more replaceable by a script.

have tried this elsewhere:

It does help a little bit, but it doesn't solve the clique issue (since there's still a select group of people making decisions and using that account) and just makes it harder for the community to pin blame on anyone in particular when the community gets mad at an admin decision. It doesn't dehumanize the mod at all- in fact, it sometimes inflates their egos due to the aforementioned lack of easy ability to blame- and doesn't really instill a "cog in a machine" mindset either. It kind of just gives the mods an anonymous veil to do whatever they want without easy backlash.

The only way I've found for this to work is if the mod is just used for general announcements, since that makes it a little bit more obvious that the whole mod team (or at least a significant majority) agreed to any given change that comes about through it.

That's why I liked Slashdot's idea of anonymous random mods.

So like let's assume you're a frequent commenter on /r/NFL or something. You might get randomly chosen to mod the sub for a week along with a few other active users.

This would turn to absolute chaos on Reddit immediately but it worked well on Slashdot for a long time.

I talk to a lot of normies in real life that have no idea about any of this stuff.
Exactly, in the grand scheme of things, pReddit really doesn't matter. Who really cares what jannies and admins are dickering about with? Does it affect anything IRL when some dickless faggots with anime profile pix wield the banhammer on some hapless normie on r/2xchromosomes for not sucking the Girldique™️? Taking a step back and realizing that the inner workings of pReddit is pointless to you , would honestly be the best. It'll come crumbling down eventually either shortly after an IPO neuters it, or in pursuit of that IPO. I think we're starting to see the beginnings of that now, honestly.
The cancer that flows out of reddit is largely what destroyed the open Internet I used to love, and that's at least tangentially connected to why we have to hide on the fucking darknet like the Internet version of al-Qaeda for the heinous crime of mocking mentally ill cockless men.

So yeah, I actually do hate reddit on a personal level and seriously wouldn't mind if every redditor got sent to the bottom of the ocean in a tin can controlled by a knockoff game controller.

The entire website is a pit latrine headed by psychopaths leading sycophants. Despite all of this I have to concede Reddit is one of the big silicon pillars that is used to control public thought whenever anything is happening. You should care about Reddit because it's what everyone surrounding you will be looking at in order to form their shallow surface level opinions & making excuses to go burn you for being a nazi witch.

Oh I hate the dickless faggotry and overall troon agenda as much as the average peaked normie, but to me, places like pReddit are more a symptom of the corporatization of the internet than the cause. I'll gladly watch with glee as the place burns, while the troons flee like cockroaches, with their dialators and laptops in tow. It's a cesspool that the world would be better off without, I just don't let it get to me on a personal level. 🤷‍♂️ And maybe it's the social circles I run in, but I really don't interact with anyone who actively uses or mentions pReddit, or atleast they don't admit to it. The most I see are articles linking to pReddit posts online, or scummy clickbait websites that will stretch out a pReddit 10 question list over 30 pages of ads.

I rarely hear anyone mention reddit but if they do, I never fail to say something like "isn't that a pedophile site?" to see how they respond. If they look like "oh shit I've been found out" I know I've spotted a redditor and if they ask I'll explain the Aimee Challenor shit, or the autobans for warning people about child groomers because it is "hate speech," but usually stop it after about one of those, because if I allow myself to go on for long I'll sound like an obsessed lunatic.

I'm not trying to be rude? But what did you think was going to happen? WPT is one of the most profoundly redditified parts of reddit and has been for years.
It doesn’t surprise me to hear someone got their head cut off in the congo, but it still shocks me on a visceral level when I see it. What I’m saying is a reddit trannyjannie being so retarded and delusional as to declare the term "biological female" to be hate speech is the logical equivalent of watching a beheading video

Probably late to ask this, but if switching a subreddit from SFW to NSFW is against the rules, why allow anyone the option to do it in the first place? Sounds like entrapment.
Probably in case someone accidentally creates a SFW subreddit, and the admins didn't think it would be abused.

Also minor sperg: It's not really entrapment because entrapment requires someone forcing you to do it. It's just a "don't press this button" button.

"As a veteran" seems like the start of alot of bad takes.
aaah, the not so elusive asas, i call them "asas", as in "as a" in the plural
go to any reddit, any comment section on any website, its full of them
"as a nurse working full time-" "as a veteran-", "as a single mother"
its always followed by "that is why i am right as i speak with authority"

A good way to get a grasp on how out of touch redditors are is to look at a sub corresponding to your local area. It's amazing how different these people are than the average human being
In /r/Cincinnati you used to be downvoted and called racist if you talked about the crime problem downtown, and then later it came out that those accounts were literally run by a property development company's social media team.

There's all kinds of weird manipulation going on in the local subs.

Okay let me check
  • Looking for Restaurants/Bars
  • Looking for a store
  • Need to fix something (Porch, Washing Machine, Car, etc)
  • A Tranny looking for friends
  • Girl Scout Board game night open to the public(the fuck?)
  • Nice photos of the sky

All these people are fucking boring as batshit.

In my area it was wall to wall shilling for democratic candidates in the upcoming election, when my state is so red it might as well be accelerating away from us

I've always assumed the DNC's social media team is very active on Reddit.

Considering Reddit's demographics (and the fact that half the site temporarily became obsessed with Ron Fucking Paul for a while) you can't convince me that they liked Clinton that much.
