shut up and give your shekels, goyemI hate this fucking argument so much.
He's not funny on-the-cuff either after you've heard his shtick enough times.Yahtzee, like most people, is not funny off-the-cuff. That's why none of his livestreams are entertaining. Not the ones with Gabe, nor the ones with his girlfriend. The ones he does with Escapist can cure insomnia until Marty starts talking. His two good things were ZP and Judging by the Cover. The former is now gay and boring and the latter ended a long time ago. He cucked himself to some crazy, LA-type broad as well as an editor-in-chief that cucked the whole magazine to a bunch of corpo-speak bureaucrats that want to be on Larry Fink's good companies list. The views that matter will keep dropping and they'll pick up some tech trannies to make up the difference, until they disappear for one reason or another(41% probably), and then the company will be diced up and sold off to some other corpo-bureau like it did before. ZP had a good run of eight~ years, with the occasional video here and there after that, but it's really not worth checking in on them anymore. If Commander LardAss NoodleMoobs Sterling went back to The Escapist, their numbers would go up. That's how depressing it's become.
it's the only thing he's good atHe's still doing Zero Punctuation? Maybe I'm weird but I'd want to off myself doing the same little format for decades. Then again, they're videos that are only a few minutes each, so maybe it's easy enough to not give a shit?
You pretty much just answered your own question. He glossed it over BECAUSE he most definitely has California Syndrome.I'm not sure if he's slowly being corrupted by California Syndrome, but he glossed over why people get frustrated over diversity in video frames now as opposed to the past - because it's now corporate-driven social politics made to tick checkboxes rather than any genuine or meaningful addition to the games they're forced into
He makes bank getting hundreds of thousands of views playing with paper puppets 4 minutes a week. Would you rather work a 9-5, or do that for a living? He's still doing Zero Punctuation? Maybe I'm weird but I'd want to off myself doing the same little format for decades. Then again, they're videos that are only a few minutes each, so maybe it's easy enough to not give a shit?
Does it? I mean ZP is just some guy writing a 5 min stream of consciousness rant and then putting it to video. Even the visuals are extremally basic and can be done in MS paint and movie maker on an old XP machine. It's one video a week and everything else is either a written review/opinion piece or a stream, two of the most low effort forms of "content" in existence. The video games/films might cost money but I don't believe that the cost of games eats into the money that ZP brings in. Having a website that hosts mostly text and images isn't that expensive either.making content costs money
I saw this, and I don't disagree with him, but it's another "yeah... no shit?" sort of video.Decided to give his Extra Punctuation on game ownership a watch. Despite a lot of Yahtzee's odd views, at least he's consistent and logical about being able to actually OWN a game you bought. Shame it's pretty much just yelling at the sky at this point, the industry will keep doing it as long as people let them continue.
He also makes a good point how remakes of games don't neccesarily "preserve" games.
Excuse me???? you need to pay for their holiday to Wisconsin and so they can record their dnd campaign live! also how else will they go to places like Germany, so they might record Gamescon reactions???Does it? If it's a cost of living thing for the employees then just move of LA. You job is on the Internet, you could do your game review YouTube thing from the dark side of the Moon.
"You should own shit you payed for", really hitting it with the controversial opinions.Decided to give his Extra Punctuation on game ownership a watch. The amount of shilling they've been doing has been getting annoying. More ads, sponsor shit(World of fucking Tanks ), and now the even paywall the latest ZP. You used to be able to watch the newest one at their site and the previous week's on Jewtube.I saw this, and I don't disagree with him, but it's another "yeah... no shit?" sort of video.

...also how else will Marty and one of the other non-yahtzees record the entire half life or metal gear series??? You need to constantly donate, or to sign up to their Patreon! Why the hell do they have a patreon???
Yahtzee shill's hard on the podcast too.The amount of shilling they've been doing has been getting annoying. More ads, sponsor shit(World of fucking Tanks ), and now the even paywall the latest ZP. You used to be able to watch the newest one at their site and the previous week's on Jewtube.
Now they paywall the latest and their tumbleweed site and Jewtube get the previous week's. Guess they are hard up for cash as they slide further into irrelevancy. But shotuout to that episode for finally pushing me to get SponsorBlock
You havo got to admire the tenacity though. The Escapist had been funcionally dead for years when it became the Zero Punctuation site. They did their little reboot... and it's still the Yatzhee show, but well, it's still there, alive, like a fucling roach.Guess they are hard up for cash as they slide further into irrelevancy.
The Escapist is like Channel Awesome if it was made by someone other than Doug but somehow recruited him and he stayed there despite everything going on. Which by itself is kinda weird since Yahtzee is famous enough to get a much better contract in a site people actually visitYou havo got to admire the tenacity though. A part of me kind of admires the unwillingness to just kill it. Another thinks it's absolutely retarded, but, hey, they are the ones begging for cash, not me.
Except who would actually take him? Aren't Gaming news sites firing their journos in exchange for AI? The other ones loath him because he's not full on SJW like everyone else is.since Yahtzee is famous enough to get a much better contract in a site people actually visit
Of course now it's too late, but in the decade and a half he is active (if I remember correctly) there were plenty of opportunities when gaming sites had more viewers and credibility and could afford to buy him from under the Escapist.Except who would actually take him? He's better off being independent.
