Hard disagree, I watched Endgame with a sense of finality and have had 0 interest in anything super hero related. Though I may be an outlier since I pretty much tapped out from all forms of modern western entertainment.
So when you watch a movie with a sense of finality you just quit the genre all toogether?

After being bombarded by it for a decade, yes, yes I do. I am very much tired of the tropes and trappings that super hero content entail, I am tired that anytime an advert wants to be clever it references superhero shit. I may be refreshed to the topic after ignoring it for a few years, but as of now I give 0 shits about any super hero related content, no matter the quality, specially since we'll probably go into the "clever deconstruction" part of the cycle of content.

Have you considered that you're tired of it because you were bombarded with borderline unwatchable garbage nonstop

You really cannot stomach that I could honest to god not give a fuck anymore to any sort of spandex clad vigilantism just out of pure saturation, is there?

it doesn't have to be garbage, everything becomes stale after a while, even more when it's the only thing you see for literally years.
or in terms of a shitty food analogy, everybody loves cake, but even the best cake in the world will make people vomit if fucking cake is all they eat.

phase 5 could've been the best phase ever, but after 10 years and the "story" being over why bother? it being garbage just makes people check out faster.

I like to think that people are smart enough to tell the difference between quantity and quality. Seems not.
I get it dude, you love your capeshit and you don't want to go back to the times where everybody considered you a virgin retard for liking it and want to lie to yourself that the medium has produced anything deeper than a fucking puddle. Keep sucking that cock off till you explode.

I don't give a shit about the genre anymore, simple as that.

I already said most of capeshit that has come out is garbage. I don't know where you got the idea that I think capeshit is deep unless you got really upset at me for some reason and were scrapping the barrel looking for a jab.

I just think you're very simple minded for writing off entire genres because of bad films existing that you didn't need to watch. I would say the same about westerns, sci fi, fantasy, or any genre. etc.

Just because 800 bad westerns exist doesn't mean the good the bad and the ugly is suddenly not worth watching.

even more when it's the only thing you see for literally years.
Well yeah, just don't see it all lol, that's my point. Something like 80% of marvel properties to have come out the past years I didn't even bother with because I knew they'd be garbo.

Dude, you are the one I'm wondering if I struck a nerve with. I've stated a "I disagree that there is no genre fatigue, but could be just me" and you kept poking and poking. I was a good little consooomer, I had my fun with the Marvel movies except for Black Panther and being tired with the formula in Thor 3 (I laughed, but was annoyed by the constant comedic whiplash). I only skipped on Captain Marvel (fuck her) and Ant Man 2 (apathy had set in at this point). I have not seen any of the tv shows or wretched slop that has come after endgame and I'm not invested on the DC side of things either. It's not like I've been ODing on the shitties of the shit here, I'd file everything I watched as a fun couple of hours for the most part with a few standouts. Everything from Iron Man 1 to Endgame was a good run, Watchmen was the most decent adaption I could ever hope for and so on and Kickass was a bit of an interesting contrast when I saw it and I also had a goodish time with the Batman Nolan films.

But I'm honestly full, I don't care for the trapping and I don't care for the tropes. Have I heard Spiderverse 1 is good? Yeah, would I have a good time watching it? Probably, but when I start thinking to myself "what do I want to spend my time on" other hobbies of mine just win out all the time. I just honest to god don't particularly care for the genre right now, I may reconsider in a few years and do a round of greatest hits, but right now I'm unable to muster interest. Same deal with franchises like Star Wars, friends tell me "oh the Mandolorian is good" "oh Andor is good" but I just don't care nor have interest in getting invested. Maybe in a few years, but not at the moment. Sorry if I snapped, but by god why do you have such a hard time accepting that somebody may just want to tap out on something and be done with it?

For me I'm feeling utterly overwhelmed by how it's becoming a giant blob of interconnected movies all building up to this one big thing. This expectation that we should follow every Marvel movie to really get the full story is just obnoxious. Don't get me started on Star Wars how many TV Series have they done now at this point? 5 plus 3 seasons of Mandalorian?

The most recent capeshit I actually watched and mostly enjoyed was James Gunn's Peacemaker series. What I liked about it was that it was just a self contained goofy Superhero story. It wasn't going "OH YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHO THIS NEXT BIG BAD GUY IS." like Marvel has been doing for the last couple years with Kang. I hope Capeshit just returns to that.

I described marvel movies as:
nonstop borderline unwatchable garbage
And your response was:
I get it dude, you love your capeshit and you don't want to go back to the times where everybody considered you a virgin retard for liking it and want to lie to yourself that the medium has produced anything deeper than a fucking puddle.
You really gonna pretend I'm the one being angry here?

They're essentially doing the same bullshit which ruined American Comics after a while. They're making it a homework of sorts to follow which becomes obnoxious to follow after a while (in this case, it might be around 10-15 films, & even that's being generous).

10-15 films over 10 years or so. I think there never were more than 2 marvel movies per year, and some could be more or less ignored if you didn't like it (not watching antman 1 won't make much difference for example). the only other thing was agents of shield, but that was mainly it's own thing.
however you can only string along the audience for so long, the hype and anticipation will inflate at some point, usually after the big climax - and we're way past that.

The cherry on the comic homework which is "status quo is god." Rendering whatever stakes involved completely null and void as everything of importance is reset.

Marvel did it quite well in the beginning. Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America were just individual movies that all end with a wink at the audience of "Hey this is going to lead to a crazy crossover event." You could watch Guardians of the Galaxy with no knowledge of capeshit and have fun.

I think it's a gigantic mistake to then have the nerve to make the Disney+ TV Shows actually move the story. Wandavision is a clunky ridiculously self indulgent show that I only sat thru because I would eat the corn out of Elizabeth Olsen's shit. When Wikipedia needs to give citations for a movie's plot that is just reckless on the part of Disney in making popcorn entertainment for the masses.

Honestly I didn't even get around to watch Dr. Strange 2 because the fan reception was very mixed. So if the movie did explain the character's turn to villianly let me know but I'm still probably not going to watch it unless there's a shot of her revealing her cameltoe. All hornyposting aside I found it immensely jarring that she'd snap Professor X's neck and murder Jim Halpert.

Needless to say I have absolutely zero interest in the Marvels movie. I'd have to watch Captain Marvel, the Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion to be caught up on the goofy Gurl Power Space Saga? No thank you.

They seem to have a real issue showing mental illness in their movies. Scarlet Witch was never sane in the comics. But she was never an outright cold blooded murderer. House of M what Wandavision is semi based on she de-powered 90% of mutants and leads to them almost becoming extinct. People just knew not to trust her because you never knew when she would snap.

Even the series x-men evolution series meant for children dealt with her issues better then the current marvel. They did not shy away from the fact that Wanda is insane.

One of the major issues though is that with the studio having quite odd rights managment over her character they could not use her real back story which they seem to have taken as a way to have quite a creative license.

Ha, maybe at first, but once the gravy train started, Disney didn't let off the throttle. Phase One was six movies over five years, back when they were still trying to get this shit off the ground (did you know Avengers was the only MCU movie out that year?). Phase Two was also six movies, this time over three years, two every year. Then Phase Three was a whopping eleven movies over four years, two in 2016 then three every year for the next three.

Then the coof happened so scheduling got messed up, but that didn't stop them from spamming movies as soon as they were able. Phase Four was seven movies in two years, four in 2021 and three in 2022. The current Phase Five slate is another seven movies over just under two years: three this year, three next, and Blade squeaking in just shy of two years after Ant-Man 3. Phase Six has three titles announced so far: Fantastic Four in 2025, Avengers 5 in 2026, and Avengers 6 in 2027. But there are also three more movies to be revealed penciled in for 2026 release dates.

And that's before getting into the TV series spam, now that they've decided to start weaving those plots into the jumbled mess as a way to sell more Disney+ subscriptions. Eight different series over 2021 and 2022, with a new show coming down the pipeline barely a month after the previous one ended. It's slowed down a little bit now, but there's still seven planned for this year or next, and eight more in various stages of pre-production.

Yeah, it's no fucking wonder some people are starting to tune this shit out.

I mean, if you want to get technical, you don't need to watch other movies to follow the latest capeshit. It's not like these are written in any sort of complex fashion, the plots are pretty simplistic and outside of a few references that might make you go "what?" you should be able to follow easily enough. But for anyone who actually wants to experience the whole story, it's getting to be an increasingly tough sell.

Right now, if you wanted to catch up on everything before (ugh) The Marvels came out, you would need to spend 71 hours on just the movies alone. Three fucking days straight! Add on the TV shows so far, and that's another 40 hours. Tack on another two hours for the two D+ specials, and that's a total of 113 hours just spent watching all this capeshit. Oh, and let's not forget that two more TV series are coming out between now and then, so better add a few more hours to that number! That's a big fucking ask, and pretty much a guaranteed way to get sick of capeshit if you're not already.

I honestly can't imagine being the sort of person who's actually hyped about capeshit at this point, especially the MCU. It peaked four years ago, the horse is being pulped nowadays.

Do remember, that Marvel was not bought by Disney until either late Phase 1 or before/early Phase 2. Paramount was distributing the movies until Disney bought them, and then Disney fucked up all that good will Marvel had just barely accrued.
