I was fine with my body changes, until I was twelve and wearing a pair of short shorts that were perfectly acceptable the summer before, and walked from the shops and past a construction site on my way to meet my mother at the RTA... next thing I know there was this fat, forty year old man wolf whistling and hooting and waving at me, beckoning me to the gate to 'talk' to him. I hadn't even menstruated yet and could barely fit an A cup. I was terrified and couldn't understand why this gross old man thought I wanted his attention. If someone had offered to turn me into a boy then and there I would have leapt at it. I completely understand why so many girls hitting puberty are going, "Hell no, I don't want this!" Instead of being encouraged to hate their body and told that drastic mutilation will fix all their problems, they should be being taught how to avoid bad situations, and how to handle themselves if they find themselves in one. Instead they're getting sex education from violent porn and groomers teaching 'consent' and how to have anal sex when they're eight.
