A family member struggles with chronic depression. She's way better now but it took awhile for her psychiatrist to find the sweet spot in terms of type of medication(s) and dosage. Too high of a dosage zombified her. Too little had little effect.

I don't know if this is accurate. This is just my interpretation.

I think Max and the rest just moved on from him, sometimes you have that friend that doesn't want to change/changes in a different way so they go off from the rest of the group. Honestly I think distance played a part as well. At the time, Frank lived in NYC and Japan, and Max and Chad live in Australia, so I think it was hard to see them regularly and they drifted apart from that as well. As for Sam, I think he was only able to tell Ian to his face about shit because he knew that Ian didn't give a shit about him and he had no opinion to lose. I will agree giving Sam the credit that he was willing to tell Ian to his face how it is, which does take some form of respect on Sam's part. Given he may also be doing it because he's Sam Hyde and knows it's exactly what would get under Ian's skin.
