The OG is still up.

Tho it is re-uploaded & I recommend archiving it ASAP.

Edit: I just found out that the guy made another one with Chiaki Nanami singing I Believe from P5R. Chiaki's VA Christine Cabanos is yet to throw a fit.

I want a Dagoth Ur speech where he chastises Nerevar for cloning a voice actor.

So just FYI for anyone who used 11.ai before, your cloned voices are still saved, but you can not make any new ones. You used to be able to still make them if you had a account from before they killed the free voice cloning, but now that feature is totally locked. Just don't delete a cloned voice, you won't be able to get it back.

Annnd its down. Wonderful. Heres an archive. Imagine caving to a dime a dozen voice actor and her army of simps. If she was actually gonna do something she would have copyright struck it.

Shit, the Christine Cabanos' Chiaki didn't get archived. But thank god at least this was archived.

As for the caving in, he's trying to get the re-upload (the 2nd video I posted in my post) removed too.

The uploader declared in the description that he won't cave in, even if the main man himself asked.

Now that I listen, the audio is obviously AI-generated.
This makes the VA's bitching that much more pathetic; the same goes for her simps trying to take it down.

The ironic thing is, that guy could DMCA it because he owns the copyright to it regardless of whether it's arguably derivative. It probably isn't infringing, though, at least not as regards the VA. The character may be copyrighted as well, but that wouldn't be owned by the VA. There's probably a right of publicity claim for appropriating someone's voice, but that is usually limited for commercial exploitation. Other potential claimants include the owner of the song in question.

All this is likely to be a real clusterfuck in the upcoming months and years.

I've only just recently started trying to figure how this shit works, but could someone make her sing moonman?

the thing that gets me the most about the people that are upset about this is the fact that this sort of thing has been going on for way longer than ai voice stuff has even been a thing.

people have always made videos in which a persons voice is edited in such a way to make them say something they would not normally say. usually its poorly edited stuff like youtube poop level things but if you know what you are doing and have enough clips of a person you can just edit them saying all sorts of shit.

the only advantage ai has is that its smoother and makes it easier to get the desired result. this ai voice stuff is essentially the same as when they hire similarish sounding voice actors because the original ones want too much money. this time however instead of settling for the guy that kinda sounds like the original they can just get an ai to copy the voice for way cheaper i am guessing.

at the end of the day if voice actors wanna fight this sort of thing they are gonna need to find a way to put some form of copyright on their voices however if they do that they are gonna end up fucking everyone over including themselves since that would cause all sorts of problems for the voice actors and the companies who wanna use their voices.

at the end of the day i think the best thing they can do is just get over it and accept that people have and always will use their voice without their permission and if they are upset about that they need to pick a new job because it will never stop and having a fit like this person did is only gonna make things worse.

Which one? Notorious K.K.K.? Or I'm Killing Niggers? Or some other one?

Maybe just the greatest hits.

You can sue if it's actionable, although this generally requires commercial use. Some totally for-free parody track that doesn't even pretend it's from the actual artist wouldn't qualify in all likelihood.

My go-to example for this is Frito-Lay once tried to hire Tom Waits to do an advertisement for them. This was retarded, as Tom Waits absolutely refuses to do commercials. What's more hilarious is they wanted him to do it like he did "Step Right Up," a song literally about how much he hated advertising and considered its participants grifting scum.

So after he refused, they hired a VA to fake his voice.

Long story short, he handed them their asses to the tune of a couple million.

Anyway, that's the sort of thing a VA would have to prove to be able to collect on a parody. If you use AI to create a false endorsement for something or commercially exploit the personality of a known individual, you might be the subject of a valid lawsuit.

Also if you've never heard it, it's one of the best songs you've never heard.
