As I spent yesterday laying stones for a patio, allow me to offer my professional opinions on his "annex".

Firstly, note that the pattern on the old stones and the new stones aren't the same. Strike 1

Second, they're laid horrendously unevenly. Not even flat. Strike 2

Third: I personally disagree with @moocow vis a vis the orange stones, but his border stones are actually quite nice. I'm a landscaper, and we actually use those stones quite a bit. But he failed to match the elevations on the sides to the pre-existing stones. Strike 3

I don't see any kind of snap edging or other such barrier between the stones and dirt. Those stones  will shift as a direct result. Strike 4

And of course, the already mentioned BBQ way too close to the fence. Strike 5

Only Fatrick could fuck up a 1-2 hour project like that so spectacularly.

It would certainly stand against you in insurance or liability claims.

it’s more for inground barbecues like fat pat. backyards here are very closely linked, to the point there’s only one fence between each house, so if one fence goes up in flames that’s at least two houses at risk of being on fire. it’s only enforced if you’re already being inspected for something else, we just love fines!

just before i finished reading your paragraph and saw the (far more timely) FatGPT comparison i was thinking that he's like a primitive "interactive fiction" text parser one might encounter in a 1980s video game.

If you go back through Rick substantial time line you notice that there's barely any pictures of him with Niki's family at all, and there was that one holiday card he was in, but they cut off everything but his fat elbow and a piece of his arm. If they don't invite him to family gatherings and holidays they're not gonna let him live with them, Niki probably, but Rick's gonna be out on the street.
