That was my family's experience as well. When my cousin was born, only his mother and father were allowed to touch him, and only after he could breathe unassisted; the rest of us had to scrub and gown before we could even go in the room, and we couldn't put our hands through the holes in the incubator. I don't follow this thread a whole lot and I don't think I've ever posted in it, but it is mind-blowing to me that there are multiple sons-in-law of Jill's, whose patriarchal word is law and have who have every right even within their own communities to tell Jill to stfu, gtfo, and not post their families on Facebook, and yet they just.. don't. She should be eating more calories, and drinking as much water as possible. If she wants to use suppliments for boosting supply and milk richness, she should be taking lecithin, fenugreek, fennel, barley, and eating as much oatmeal as she can stomach. She definitely should NOT be doing anything with caffeine as that leaks into the milk. Caffine for a newborn, let alone a premie, can cause all sorts of nervous system issues.
