The US is huge, so they divide it up into 13 regions - districts - based on geography. These are federal districts, states are referred to by the state names.

Each district creates precedent, but only that district is bound to that precedent. I could use the 11th district precedent in a case in the 5th district, but the 5th district is not required to abide by it. It's typically used to tell another district that see, this other region thinks my ideas hold merit and you should find in my favor.
This is partially incorrect.

The circuit courts are the federal appellate courts. They are numbered 1st through 11th, plus DC, plus (confusingly, sorry) Federal. Each circuit handles appeals from federal courts in a particular geographic area of the United States. (Except the Federal Circuit, which isn't limited by geography but only handles certain kinds of cases, like patent and trademark.) For example, the Eleventh Circuit covers federal courts in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida, whereas the Third Circuit covers federal courts in New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania (and also the US Virgin Islands, I think?).

The district courts are the federal trial courts. Each district is a geographic area within a circuit. Some districts cover an entire state (e.g., District of Montana). Some districts only cover part of a state (e.g., Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California). As stated above, district courts are bound by the law of their own circuit, but not by other circuits. So a court in the District of New Jersey has to follow what the Third Circuit says, but not what the Ninth Circuit says. And the circuits don't have to follow each other, so sometimes they disagree (that's called a "circuit split," which is one reason the Supreme Court might take up a case--to resolve the split).

Appeals from the circuits go to the Supreme Court, whom everyone has to follow. (Side note: the name "circuit" comes from the days when Supreme Court justices would "ride circuit" to hear cases in a given area.)

They're just going to focus on this point, AHA THE JUDGE DOESN'T KNOW SEX IS DIFFERENT FROM GENDER (depending on what we're arguing) SO THE ENTIRE THING IS ILLEGITIMATE AND THE CONSERVATIVE SUPREME COURT WILL AGREE:
A court's findings of fact are supposed to correspond to objective reality, in which sex actually exists, as opposed to the delusional fantasies of troons.

Well, I now fully expect troons to pressure the Biden administration to direct the FDA to give full approval for Lupron and wrong-sex hormones to be used for "gender affirming care" to negate the logical underpinnings of this argument.

I gotta say, woke morons bleating about Indian land are getting on my last nerve. When nations fight wars, a loss of territory for the loser is not an uncommon occurrence. Various Indian tribes lost, we won, thus land changed hands. Simple as.

Now, the US still has an obligation to respect the various treaties and agreements we entered into. I would hope US courts hold the government to its word, and indeed, sometimes it does.

But that's not the same thing as "reeee get off our lands ghostface".

Damn, they actually went into the weeds with the issues here. I figured this would be a more simple procedural discussion.

They're laying the tracks for this argument to get shut down for good.

The FDA has tried many times to make it illegal to prescribe off label. The troons are once again marching head long into the progressive administrative state buzzsaw like with Title IX and mental health restrictions on gun ownership.

Also tony yes the verdict was tailored to convince the supreme court. I know you're trying to make it sound like this is some shady conspiracy, but it really isn't. It's trying to make a legally valid argument
This is like saying that when you went to court for selling fake drugs, your defense was tailored to the law. Of course it was because you didn't want to go to prison. What is the court supposed to do? 'we have no idea if this is constitutional or not, so we just flipped a coin, heads it's upheld, tails it's repealed'. As fucking if this clown calls himself a 'legal researcher'

CNN — Years before he said he was running for president to “defeat the cult of gender ideology,” Donald Trump welcomed and praised the inclusion of transgender women in the Miss Universe pageant.

In since unreported radio and television interviews from spring and summer 2012, Trump celebrated the interest in a 23-year-old transgender woman named Jenna Talackova participating in a Canadian pageant. He then later effusively praised the winner of the Miss USA pageant, Olivia Culpo, for saying that transgender women should be allowed to compete.

Trump, then the owner of the Miss Universe pageant, would go on to cite the possible participation of transgender women in Olympic sports to justify his decision to end a ban on transgender pageant participants.

further down....

For example, at the Miss USA pageant in June 2012, Culpo said she welcomed the participation of transgender women in the competition – a comment that Trump supported.

“I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women,” Culpo said when asked if transgender participants should be allowed. “But today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country.”

That seemed to go over well with Trump.
“She gave a great answer, a very tough question – on transgender – just the question everybody wants to hear, and she gave a great answer and she really did a great job,” Trump said praising Culpo on Fox and Friends in June 2012.

“It was a very cool answer,” added Trump. “Great, [she] gave a great answer.”

“Her answer was a very intelligent answer and that’s one of the reasons I assume the judges picked her,” Trump said in another June interview on Fox and Friends.

In 2012, Talackova was allowed to compete after threatening legal action over the Miss Universe organization ban on transgender contestants, which had come under scrutiny.

Trump claimed to CNN at the time he personally made the decision to end the ban before even knowing about the legal threats from Talackova’s attorney, Gloria Allred.

A statement released by the Trump Organization at the time said the change was to modernize the pageant.

“Pageant rules have been modernized to ensure this type of issue does not occur again,” read the statement, issued on Trump’s behalf by his then-attorney Michael Cohen.

The only allies they want are permanent yes men. If you ever, ever, ever say no to them, or even "hang on a second" you are now a Nazi. It doesn't matter how long you've been an ally, or even a member of good standing in "the community", you're either with them 110% of the time or you literally want to murderrapegenocide them.

It's a very black and white view of the world. 99% of people who've peaked have done so after seeing the REEEEEEEEEEEEING from the TQs after criticizing them.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Kansas must stop allowing transgender people to change the sex listed on their driver’s licenses, a state-court judge ordered Monday as part of a lawsuit filed by the state’s Republican attorney general.

District Judge Teresa Watson's order will remain in effect for up to two weeks, although she can extend it. But it's significant because transgender people have been able to change their driver's licenses in Kansas for at least four years, and almost 400 people had done it by the end of June. For now, Kansas will be among only a few states that don't allow any such changes.

The judge issued the order three days after Attorney General Kris Kobach sued two officials in Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly's administration. Kelly announced last month that the state's motor vehicles division would continue changing driver's licenses for transgender people so that their sex listing matches their gender identities.

Kobach contends that a law, which took effect on July 1, prevents such changes and requires the state to reverse any previous changes in its records. It defines “male” and “female” so that Kansas law does not recognize the gender identities of transgender, nonbinary or gender non-conforming people. The Republican-controlled Legislature enacted it over Kelly’s veto. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/judge-ordered-kansas-stop-changing-trans-peoples-sex-101008299

Good. Governmental records should reflect biological reality. There are reasons why someone would need to know your sex, such as hospitals in case of emergency.

If you're really a woman then it shouldn't matter what your documents say, because you know the truth. Relying on a legal fictional definition means your "womanhood" is a shallow, performative thing.

Given that trannies were whining during lock down about not really feeling trans when no one was there to see them, it's obviously performative.

I feel like I've said this before but Tony's explanation does not match the actual story. The judge did not "rule" that and the "ruling" could not result in that, this is yet again a temporary injunction order before the actual court case is held. (That case will likely result in what Tony weirdly fears since it is the law.)

Also, I'm like 100% sure I could go back in this thread or Tony's Twitter account to find instances of him declaring a governor not following the law to be an attack on democracy.

"Harassment" = any comment or look that acknowledges that they are trans in any fashion.

The last time I showed my license to anyone was when I joined the gym. I don't even remember the time before that. No one looks at your license when using a credit card anymore. If you're old no one cards you, and if they did they'd be looking at the dob not your sex.

This is the most harassment they're gonna get:

Cashier: you're trans?
Tranny: *seethe* yes
Cashier: cool, have a good day man
Tranny: *literally murdered*

Autistic Gay Men Share Their Love for Dungeons and Dragons

LGBTQ Nation: How long had y’all been talking before you became romantically involved?

Zephyr: A few months…

And what sorts of things did you find y’all had in common, apart from politics?

Zephyr: From the litany of interests… D&D [the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons], music, the nerdy things that we both love, sour foods, and all of that, and then just like, I don’t know — you fall in love with the kindness of a person.

Reed: Yeah, I shared my D&D map with her that was kind of cool. We nerded out over books, over TV shows… There was a lot there.

I have got to know: What are your D&D characters like?

Reed: Just to preface this, I am a forever DM [dungeon master, someone who organizes and creates games for other players], so I rarely actually play D&D as a player. But whenever I do play, usually a pirate-themed half-elf wizard that is like on the ocean. I don’t know. That’s like my vibe.

Zephyr: I’ve also been a forever DM and also have not been able to play much since I started campaigning. But I was able to (play as a) guest in her campaign, and I played a fighter with great axe who had two levels in wizardry, so she had a portent and could read the future, and that was really fun.

Trans fiancees Zooey Zephyr & Erin Reed discuss their love amid anti-LGBTQ hate - LGBTQ Nation (archive)

Reed: We’ve very quickly found that our music interests align very closely also.
Cool bro, a fellow Dead-head. I wonder if Zac also has an enormous, admittedly rubbish Grateful Dead tattoo?

Reed: We actually did a few VR chat dates where she had an Oculus and I had an Oculus, and we would just sit down and watch a show in VR chat together.
This has got to be more lame than them bonding over D&D.

Reed: I knew the moment that I spent the Thanksgiving holiday with her [in Montana] that I was just like, “Whoa, this is it. This is it permanently. This is it right here.”
Zephyr: So the legislative session ended [on May 2], and then she flew up and I proposed. Then we both went to New York for an award show [the GLAAD Media Awards]. And then I went back to Helena and I cleaned out my legislative place and drove across the country to visit family and politicians. And we [did] Pride Month shenanigans all over the country. But… then we will make the call of whether or not she’s gonna come join me or if we’ll maintain two homes.

Reed: We’re still working on the specifics on that. But no matter what though, we’re going to spend as much time with each other as humanly possible and that will involve many plane trips regardless.
Looks like Zac won't be moving to Germantown.

Zephyr: So the legislative session ended [on May 2], and then she flew up and I proposed.
I'm not surprised Zac is the one who proposed. Not surprised at all.

(Zac): But… then we will make the call of whether or not she’s gonna come join me or if we’ll maintain two homes.

Reed: We’re still working on the specifics on that. But no matter what though, we’re going to spend as much time with each other as humanly possible and that will involve many plane trips regardless.
...annnnnnd there we have it.

Tony's obviously hedging his bets for his "career" by not just immediately decamping to a backwater (if lovely) state far off from where anyone he cares about lives, but also to keep his anus as safe as possible from anything Zac'll shove up it.

I keep harping on and on about how it's painfully obvious Zac's very much in love with Tony and it's so clearly not reciprocated. This is just more proof in the pudding. Like I say on other bits that make me state this claim - yes, yes, you can reasonably claim distance is a factor for these two "working" "women" (I use both terms loosely). But this, Zac speaking on intent to do so way back, seeing Tony subtly flinch back in pictures where Zac kisses him, and remembering well after Tony's cock chop he was only for natal women and called himself "lesbian"? All that circumstantial evidence builds up to a pretty coherent picture and I for one am laughing at the fact this very straight man trolled HIMSELF into a gay marriage for sake of his slowly rotting ideology.

Calling it now: years and years in the future, after they split up, we'll see Representative "Zooey Zephyr" give some tell-all interview about "her" "political career" and she'll talk on what a weirdo and creep then-partner "Erin Reed" was in-between the lines.

Of course Tony's a forever DM. He's a control freak who likes having power over people. I notice that Zac was the one who compromised and played as a player. Tony could have let Zac run a session, or let another regular player run the session so they could both play. But, nope. Tony needs the control. Hope Zac doesn't mind never DMing again.

That's going to be the theme during their whole relationship. Zac and Tony both want different things? Zac will be the one giving up on his dreams.

Right now Tony is willing to pretend to take Zac's wishes into consideration. Flying to Montana most of the time, for instance. However, after they're married? Forget it. He'll need to "focus on his career, you're not in session, I can't leave my struggling son, you come to me".

Anyone who's seen a narcissist in a relationship knows what I'm talking about. The only reason Tony is going to those great Lengths right now is because Zac went viral this year. I would bet the fact that Zac ran for office is literally the only reason Tony paid any attention to him in the first place. The possibility of fame, acclaim, infamy, whatever is catnip to a narcissist. Then he won his seat, then he caught the attention of the masses. Tony is riding high on reflected narc supply.

But it'll run out. Zac will lose his next election, or an election, or the tidal shifting I see all around troonery will greatly accelerate and suddenly trannies are lame, and before Zac even realizes what's happened Tony will be a three time divorced single dad. Maybe literally a dad again, depending on Troon trendiness at the time.

Tony is AGP, but he strikes me as having more of a narcissistic reason for trooning out. He's failed at other ways of getting attention, and being trans is in, so let's cut off the old dick! People will love me then!
