That's really curious. I'd expect if Nick told him to fuck off, he'd chimp out at Nick like he does everyone else. There's one of two possibilities here:

1) Ralph knows Nick is his only path forward and he will let the catboy deep dick him with barbed penis to stay on Cozy, and/or
2) Nick is actually able to stay diplomatic with Ralph to make him see things his way.

Nick didn't actually think Ralph would show up. He was never explicity invited but when Ralph made drunken claims about going Nick didn't slap him down or say anything..or encourage him afaik. Ralph is exactly the type of guy that can't take hints. Ralph floated "trial balloons" online about going, did not get a direct no from Nick, he assumed he could go and play e-celeb and Nick would be happy about it.

Instead Nick finally had to give the "hard no" even if he did it politely, but I'm sure he talked nasty to his Groypher generals about telling that gross fat fuck to get lost. Nick would have also hated the fact that a lolcow like Ralph would get far more attention than little Nicky.

Ralph has no choice but to quietly eat shit and go home without complaint. He's fucked without his superchats on Cozy.

As I understand it, IIED is something you add on to your actual cause for action as a way to increase your payout, not as its own cause, for the reasons you just said. Once again, Vickers deals himself an L from the get-go.

It's more like one of those things lolyers always tack on (and Vickers probably copypasted this from a similar complaint) for fear of malpractice if they don't. It's almost never going to succeed, virtually unheard of for it to succeed as a standalone tort without another one, and even if you do win on it, the damages will be duplicative of the damages for defamation and will not increase your payout.

It makes even less sense these days to include such a count in strong anti-SLAPP states because it's not that uncommon for a single frivolous count in an otherwise valid complaint to be SLAPPable, or result in a fees award for fighting it even without a SLAPP statute. Counsel (or even pro se retards like Vickers) should actually give some thought as to whether a shotgun complaint alleging every single possible cause of action is a prudent course.
