Making a forum and forgetting to bring jannies on board is just so on brand for the Pokemon Company and friends.
These forums have actually been open for a while, the sheer autism that was just shat onto them today was due to Twitter taking notice.

And I have a feeling that a lot of those threads are going to get shitcanned, even the "X character is LGBTQIABBQBYOBB+" threads aren't safe if Nintendo pruning those trans pride flag stages from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Stage Builder feature is any indication.

EDIT: Typo.

Oh, and I just noticed that TPCi just locked the forum down, you can't post in it at all even if you log in.

EDIT 2: And all of the shitty LGBTQIABBBQBYOBB+/Poképhilia threads are gone. I'm hearing reports ofuers getting banned but I suspect that TPCi pulled a galaxy-brain and just banned everyone from the forums until this shit gets cleared up.

Back on my hack, I decapitalised more, though I missed a few things. I even decapitalised some stuf from the original Pokémon Gold/Silver game scenarios, even though they are going to be replaced with Paldean scenarios. I also commeneted out a lot of unreferenced functions, though I left some that might be usefu later. There was also some unused graphics, but I feel that I do not have the skill necessary in actually getting rid of them right now.

Other than that, I followed some pokecrystal tutorials in adding the Fairy type, making the Pink Bow the Fairy-boosting item, replacing Thief wit Hail, adding the 50% Special Defence boost o Ground types in a Sandstorm, and adding weather icons. I even added a 50% Defence and 50% Special Defence boost o Ice types in Hail, since I find Snow a letdown and they need the Defence boost. I also shortened the Pokémon Centre message.

A big part is me managing to change the opening splash screens. The opening has a message, while almost every reference to Game Freak is change to that of the Kiwi Farms. I changed the copyright date accordingly. Getting the initial copyright splash screen was tricky, especially since I accidentally lef the copyright year when trying to figure out which tile matched which RAM value, bu there wa a surprisingly large amount of space. Things were harder wi the 'GAME FREAK PRESENTS' graphic. Though 'GAME FREAK' and 'KIWI FARMS' hare some letters, I could only recycle 'AMFRK' and add 'IW' before running out of space. I tried to expand the image by one tile, bu that just caused a memory overflow that spilled over the actual Game Freak logo, which ended up having its halves flipped. I eventually just shrunk th "e"s in 'PRESENTS' by one pixel each, pushed them sideways, and eded up with just enough space where I could make an "S". I tried to make the new letters fancy the way the original 'GAME FREAK' message was, too. The remaining surprise was tha the palettes of the graphics were inverted, even though there were no .pal files nearby. The pokecrystal FAQ said tha the .pngs were paletted. I ended up building Aseprite from source and changing the palettes there. Of course, I managed to shrink the opening movie a bit, since I plan on having Meowscarad and Quaquaval have some flash appearances before Skeledirge uses the Flamethrower attack, though I had a bit of problems wi the palettes, first.

The big part is that I cleaned up some text overflo whenever a Trainer sends out a Pokémon. However, that caused a glitch where the game glitches then restarts just after the Pokémo name finishes printing. The reset messes up the palettes. Doing the same thing multiple times eventually just blanks ou the game. I realised later that pretty much every "text_ram wBattleMonNickname" needed a corresponding "text_start" instruction.

I did mor edits ince then, but I shall pu the glitchy builds here in case some wan to play wi these.

okay so i'm just here to brag about my recent shiny. i have been searching FOREVER for a shiny roaring moon. i kept savescumming sandwiches so i didn't waste ingredients and eventually the motherfucker appeared, after several rounds of catching other shinies (FOUR shiny gible, three shiny zweilous, one shiny gabite, one random shiny houndstone) then within the same half hour i ran into another shiny scream tail, making that my second one.

i thought catching shinies in legends was retarded, but this is ridiculous. like a week ago i had like two overlapping noivern outbreaks and after savescumming sandwiches i caught a shiny noibat, followed by a shiny noivern in a very short period of time.

also beat the mighty delphox raid, so that was fun. i used a houndoom with its flash fire ability, modest nature, poison teratype, max evs/ivs in hp and sp atk, with taunt, mud slap, sludge bomb, and nasty plot, holding a shell bell. unfortunately it does need team support, because on its own i think houndoom is just too slow to be effective in this particular raid.

/autism

This might end up deserving its own thread but the Pokemon company has launched its own forum. It is going exactly how would think it would go.

Oh so trannys are free to join their official site and start talking about bestiality and which underage girls are trans but I can't name my Pokémon "nigger"...... Its just not fair.

My nephew is getting into Pokemon cards, gave him a deck recently; reminds me when I was his age lol. Pokemon cards have gotten powerful, everything in my old bucket of cards is basically useless, but that's power creep for you I guess.
I've been into the TCG on and off, and yeah, looking at old sets compared to new, the power creep is insane. I remember the old version of the OTCG having the "XY Evolutions" deck and wondering how the fuck, even during X/Y period, anyone was expected to pull a win with that deck. Older cards are like throwing a level 5 Starly at a level 100 Gigalith and expecting to win without extreme shenanigans. Hell, I remember when 120HP was considered a lot, now you're a scrub of your Pokemon doesn't have 300+ HP, have a busted deck control ability, and deal 200+ damage.

Been playing a lot of GO lately, so my feed gets inundated with fucking Reddit posts from r/PokemonGO and Sylph Road, so I see a lot of bitching that leads me to this question...

Why are rural players such faggots? I have never seen people this fucking entitled in a multiplayer game before in my life. Every single update or fix made to the game: "WWAAAAAAAHHHHH NIANTIC IS BULLYING RURAL PLAYERS AGAIN!!!!". Niggers, I'm gonna make this clear: THE GAME ISN'T MEANT FOR YOU!

It's a game meant to be played while out and about on your daily tasks, to encourage you to explore or travel, see new things, meet people, ect. To allow for this, you need locations that have interesting things around to begin with that are reasonably accessible to most people, living in the middle of bumfuck nowhere by yourself is completely antithetical to the intended purpose of the game. It is that fucking simple. There's plenty wrong with the game, but John living out in the sticks not being able to play isn't one of them, John in the sticks isn't the target audience of the damn game.

Excuse my rant, this is pretty much the only place I can post it because everywhere else tangential related to the game is filled with retard crybabies who can't handle having their entitlement complexes challenged.

I won't continue to fill up the thread with IPA symbols. Suffice to say Milotic's true pronunciation was another shock to the system. And I now know for sure that Arceus is pronounced with a k sound (that doesn't mean I have to like it, though).

I won't pronounce Numel like numb-ul, though. They'll have to pry nooml from my cold, dead hands.

I remembered getting the copyright date and name in the wrong order in the last build.
Here, I shrunk the logo in a separate art programme then turned on the grid. I opened the original Game Freak logo in Aseprite, turned on the grid, and copied the shrunk logo pixel by pixel. Then, I fixed up the logo in a few places and built. (Keeping the programmes eparate avoided a mess wi the palette of the original image.)
Before this, though, I changed the Lucky Egg EXP gain from 50% to 100%. I also decapitalised more. Another thing was that I shrunk a 3-line message to 2-lines, since I miscalculated how many lines the no-longer overflowing '<POKEMON> was sent out!' message took.

I planned on making more changes, but part of this post was me writing down all the changes I remembered since the last build but before I modified the logo.

Update on Pokemon Sun Nuzlocke

I'm currently at Tapu Lele Ruins, right before Plumeria and Olivia
Some of my encounters were really lucky, so i hope i'm able to keep them around for as long as possible.

my team looks like this
- Misdreavus Lv. 26 (my MVP with those stats, Ghost type with Silk Scarf and echoed voice its just OP early game, but beware of bite and pursuit users)
- Gyarados Lv. 27
- Bagon Lv. 25
- Slowpoke Lv. 25
- Umbreon Lv. 23
- Mudbray Lv. 25

Box: Pinsir Lv. 23, Poliwhirl Lv. 25, Gastly Lv. 23, Wingull Lv. 22, Brionne Lv. 27, Wimpod Lv. 24, Sableye Lv. 25

Deaths (this game feels hard after ORAS):
Smeargle - > Died to Donald Trumps Totem Gumshoos Tackle attack, but managed to get off two super fangs i earlier sketched
from Trump Jr. in the cave.
Zubat -> Died to a wild Digletts Metal Claw crit
Rattata -> The Cutiefly i caught finished it off with a highroll Struggle Bug
Cottonee - > Dexios Espeons Confusion
Morelull - > Wild Psyducks rain boosted water pulse crit
Cutiefly -> Totem Wishiwashis water gun
Finneon -> Hiker Davids Magmars Faint Attack while trapped in Fire Spin
Grubbin -> Trumbeaks Pluck
Magby -> Trumbeaks Pluck
Trumbeak -> Trumbeaks Pluck
Fomantis -> Karate Kids Machops Karate Chop Crit
Diglett -> Totem Lurantis' Razor Leaf

Salazzle was easy with mudbray.
I went into the Totem Lurantis fight with a team of Gyarados, Sableye, Brionne, Umbreon, Diglett and Misdreavus and a strategy based on stall. Magby, trumbeak and grubbin died to a random ace trainer i accidentally ran into during a grinding session.

I lowered its ATK stage by 6 with Gyarados Intimidate and Protect/Detect on every member to stall out Solar Blade PP. At -6 i started using leer.

There was a clutch call where brionne switched into the allys Supersonic and had to break through confusion to get rid of the totems last Solarblade PP via protect. My other team members were already chipped by the combined moves, so i had to risk brionne or could've lost the run.

After Brionne finally finished off the mighty mantis with Acrobatics, it barely survived trumbeaks pluck with 3 HP. Next turn, misdreavus swept it with charge beam

In the end, everybody was below 25% HP and I had to sack diglett to safely get in Sableye, but i won the second hardest totem fight in all of sun and moon.

Here is the latest build.

I did even MORE decapitalisation, including the '(s)' that marts use and the menus. I even refound that I missed all of the Pokémon Silver entries.

Aside from that, I followed more tutorials. I got rid of unused Pokémon data, which freed some space that would allow more TMs. I also replaced Curse with Dazzling Gleam... or 'Dazzle Gleam' because of naming conventions, which led me to end up redoing some of the story from the guy in Celadon Mansions. I also added the Ice Stone and the Link Cable, the latter which evolves all Pokémon that evolve through trading, whether they need to be holding an item or not, though you cannot find these in gameplay just yet. I made the thrown Pokéball colours unique, though that currently messed up the animations out of some reason. What does work is gaining EXP upon catching the Pokémon. I also had the game show the name of any TMs and HMs you get. I also was abou to reduce the low HP beeping noise and stop LV 100 Pokémon from gaining EXP, but I found ou that I already did that in the 'Trainers DNI' build. I even started coding the Fog weather.

On failures, I tried to add a fourth stats page, bu that just made the hack reset with messed u palettes again, since the page code is different from pokegold to pokecrystal, mainly due to a lack of wStatsScreenFlags. I was not really going to do anything wi that at first; I jus thought 'Sure, Why Not? I could show the stat experience and IVs that way.' Another failure was me trying to add a new evolution method: 'seethe', which means that a Pokémon must have a friendship of 35 or lower. However, that caused a 'Keyerror data' message. I just noticed that, since I ju straight copied the code from the happiness code, that would have made the requirement of 35 or higher.

I also made changes that, while possibly pointless because they are tied to Pokémon GSC instead of Pokémon SV, just made me feel better.
  • I put Nidorina nd Nidoqueen in the sam eg groups that Nidorino and Nidoking did, since their omissions just felt weird, and having Nidoran be the only breeding-compatible female of the line gave big pædo vibes.
  • Eevee volves into Espeon wi the Sun Stone and Umbreon wi the Moon Stone. This also frees up friendship to being the trigger of Sylveon if I even pu th Eevee line in the final hack.
  • I put Murkrow and Houndour in the Burnt Ower. Murkrow is in the ground floor while Houndour is in the basement.
  • Morty now uses a Misdreavus instead of another Haunter.
  • The Moomoo Farm now does not care if you already have a bottle of Moomoo milk before you buy another bottle.
  • I had Whitney grow up a little.
Now if only I can find a way of making sure that guy does not block the Ice Cave before you get 7 badges.
On the next build, I plan on getting Kurt o instantly make a ball from Apricorns. I was initially thinking of replicating the Pokémon Crystal system, bu then I realised that much work would be pointless if th is going to be a Pokémon SV hack in th end.

To be fair XY - Evolutions set then that set was basically a Gen I wankfest with very few cards being viable (the only Pokémon I remember seeing any sort of competitive use were Dragonite-EX and, ironically enough, the Base Set Mewtwo “reprint”). That said you do have a point about the power creep, Creatures Inc. seems to be trying to dampen it a bit by making SV-era exs similar to RSE-era exs but there’s still the issue of attacks being doing 200+ damage and HP counts being around 300+ HP for certain Rule Box Pokémon.

But it is marginally better to get into the game in terms of cost and accessibility. You can easily build Lost Box, the current “top tier” competitive deck in the Standard format for less than 100 bucks and most decks are similar in terms of cost and it gets even cheaper when you factor in Pokémon’s official (but extremely buggy) online TCG app.

Yeah the attack is nuts. I got my nephew this box set for 10 bucks, and it slaughters basically everything I had from 10 years ago

My old Raquaza X could pull a 200 damage attack out, but it's cost was discarding all its energy. Now these new cards just spit that shit out like its nothing

I'm probably necroposting/breaking some kinda rule (by all means call me out if I am) , but a while back a guy called "FossilDiggerStudios" was on this thread, Yeah so fast forward a bit and I meet the guy, I had no clue about anything he did, we just had common interests, But I found his Steam/D.A/Tumblr accounts of anyone wants that, Now a days he's into pregnant cookie run characters.

I got curious as to when new DLC news might come out, so I went back to look at SwSh's marketing.

The first announcement of SwSh's DLC was on January 9th, 2020, with the first proper trailer coming two months later on March 20th(?). After that, there was only one more trailer sometime in May before IoA's release in mid-June. Crown Tundra followed a similar trajectory.

Seeing as Scarlet and Violet's marketing strategy has essentially boiled down to "exactly how Sword and Shield did it but we show almost nothing for half a year before dropping the game", I'm guessing it's going to just be a more spaced-out version of this. The DLC was announced on February 27th but we didn't get anything other than a few pieces of art until June 21st (when we got like 5 minutes of gameplay and no elaboration beyond version exclusives and a few names)… and the Teal Mask is releasing sometime in Fall. The timespan between information is much longer (2ish months between reveal and first trailer compared to 4 months) but the same amount of information is being shown (arguably even less than before, actually), so it doesn't seem totally implausible...

I'm expecting nothing until maybe late August or early September, and then a drop in probably late September or early October. If TPC wanted to be really cheeky and/or stupid, they could drop Teal Mask right before Halloween and release Indigo Disk sometime in January. I don't think that'll happen, especially considering the ever-important holiday window, but considering how the release dates are still super fucking vague nearly 5 months after the DLC's initial announcement and the obvious troubles Gamefreak are having with development I can believe that there might be a delay that necessitates it/the release dates still haven't been decided and they're just going to end up shitting the DLC out when it's "ready" (technically playable).

All this is to say: haha what the fuck is happening over at their HQ. How badly are they panicking/not caring. How is it that we're 4 months maximum from the first release and there still isn't a date yet. What even.

Personal Opinion - the games launch was so fucked that The Big N looked at GameFreak and asked "the fuck is this shit". Yeah, it sold like hotcakes - it's fucking Pokémon, so no shit - but compared to other Big Name First Party Nintendo IP's, the games were an embarrassment on launch.

I have this mental image of Nintendo telling them to fix their shit before they put out any form of DLC, but because GameFreak has been coasting on name recognition since Gen 4/5 and have no real experienced talent on hand for what Scarlet and Violet are, they break at least 3 things for everything they "fix", so Nintendo is moving up to reminding them that Kneecaps are a Privilege.

My weird Mental Image aside - GameFreak makes a lot more sense if you think of them as Japanese Bethesda, just without modders to unfuck their shit.
