Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

And if Ukraine collapses and Poland goes through with their western occupation rumours, then I have a strong bet Hungary will try and snatch the mountains back, it is rightful Magyar clay after all
The Hungarian army is very small and I doubt they would even be able to occupy any land in Ukraine. Keep in mind that if we assume that Ukraine collapses that would mean a lot of well armed militias are running around there.
And that's not even talking about the big political issues with doing that.

Credit where credit is due, we all expected him to flee in the first days of the war but he did stay. Even though I am pretty sure some of his "straight from the bunker" inspirational speeches were filmed in Poland.
Zelensky hasn't spent much time in Ukraine at all since this started. Instead he's been traveling the globe being showered with celebrity everywhere while wearing the same actor's costume.

And he will keep travelling the globe after everything blows over, signing books and delivering lectures in universities for half a million dollar a pop while wearing the same actor's costume. Georgia's Saakashvili kept doing it for quite a while, if memory serves me right.

I am just surprised how easily everyone memoryholed Zelensky's election promise to reconcile with Donbass so that no war would happen.

If the former president of Afghanistan can go around being a professor and lecturing on how to save failed states so can our ukrainian friend after this is all over. Fair is fair!

The escalation continues. Ukraine blew up another ammo depot in Crimea using a Storm Shadow missile, which is bad news for Russia. Up until now the West remained adamant about not letting Ukraine use their toys for the attacks on the Russian mainland, a rule that has now been broken twice. The Russian ministry of defense appears to have cucked and is incapable of retaliating with anything other than limp-dicked promises of "striking the decision-making centers" it has been repeating since the early days of the war.

If this emboldens Biden to hand over MGM-140 ATACMS, Russia is in trouble. NATO surveillance is much better than the Russian one, so they will not have difficulty picking new high value targets. Zelensky announced he is doubling down on the counteroffynsyv, so... yeah. Looks like a peremoga, at least for now.

ZeroHedge is reporting that a US cluster bomb has been fired on Russian territory although they link a Guardian story that doesn't mention it that I can see. If true that took what, two days before Zelensky broke his promise?

There have been tepid rumors about NATO mulling the use of manpower from Poland and the Baltics to bolster Ukraine's dwindling manpool. I wouldn't put much trust in them just yet, it's literally "one babushka said..." sources, but I am pretty sure somebody already considered this idea somewhere, if only in passing.
The impression I get is that everyone wants someone else to go because they don't want their citizens to get slaughtered as that's bad for polling.

It's probable that the goal is to have Russia attack some high-value target in response that can then be used to justify escalation. To my knowledge the Russians are engaging all available military targets, so the remaining targets would presumably be civilian (This includes politicians). Would them sending a Kalibr to Zelensky's house actually have a positive effect on the war for the Russians?

Other than that; the international community ignores Russian complaints (see; Bucha), so what else should they do?

I'm not saying the RUMOD aren't retards, but I'm not actually sure what they would do in this case.

ZeroHedge has an obvious bias. It is fun to read sometimes, but I dont take it too seriously about most topics, and I am not autistic enough to follow their financial news. Their political pieces are bonkers most of the time.

Re bombing of crimea - how many ukro dumps were destroyed and how many russians, because somehow I have trouble believing that two warehouses that stayed unmoved for quite a bit suddenly display a big trouble for russia. If anything, bringing another wave of kalibrs.

Stop making public comments threatening hell and brimstone maybe?

Shoigu on June, 20:

The use of these missiles outside the zone of the special military operation would mean a full-fledged involvement of the U.S. and the UK in the conflict and would entail immediate strikes on the decision-making centers on the territory of Ukraine
Constantly drawing red lines and then failing to enforce them does not make Russia look good.

Just trying to make Italians do fighting, which is frankly like herding cats. How the Romans ever managed to spawn such weak warriors is utterly inconcievable.

Hey! I will have you know the Italians fight plenty well! The problem with WW2, and even WW1 Italy was leadership. You know that meme people complain about on the WW1 western front of British being "Lions led by Donkeys"? Italy actually was like that to a much worse degree. The Italians in North Africa did a lot better once they were put under the control of Rommel for example.

Also they did ok in the Eastern Front, which makes it a war crime for me that the Eldeweiss would have killed them for simply knowing they were beaten. They went as far as one of their divisions doing the last cavalry charge in history and winning during Barbarossa. [1] [2]

All of this could have been avoided if the imbeciles in power had simply followed the Third Rule of Acquisition.
This assumes that the average DS9 fan actually took in what the show was saying rather than writing Garak x Bashir smutfics.
He's a poltician first and a soldier vaguely, baseless posturing is his bread & butter.

I would add to that that current italians have very little to do with romans, and that romans themselves never really were all that good - they were better because of logistics and leadership, not the legionnaires being some uberhumans.
