Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

Heckin funny Redditrenio humor man! Totes awesome!
Seriously, I hate this so much. The meta humor bullshit that has plagued entertainment for the past decade due to Marvel cape shit. The type of humor where nothing can be taken seriously and everyone is in on the joke. The D&D movie was filled with this humor. I'm for one am getting sick and tired of this type of humor in story telling and so are many others given that cape shit is in its death throes and the D&D movie bombed harder than any movie this year.
I'm surprised that the huge monster is female. When I saw her face I thought it was a gay monster buttsex scene and screamed in terror. Not that this scene is not disturbing without the faggotry but after all I heard & saw about BG3 I expected homosexual degeneracy.

You just know, behind the scenes, a bunch of sexual harassment has got to be happening on regular basis at Larian. The art these people produce is a clear indication of where their minds are at 24/7.

These people had to sit down and think about writing and animating stuff like this. Nobody in their right mind would do that unless they has some deeply unresolved sexual issues.

This kind of stuff should be outlawed because it only encourages people to be pervs and deviants.

I fully admit this is my personal bias, and I don't know enough about 5e to say if turn-based matches its ruleset better. I believe you if you say it does, and if Larian already had an engine it makes a lot of sense to reuse it. But if you're going to call your game "Baldur's Gate 3" that means you're aiming for fans of the franchise, not necessarily fans of 5e, and that means you need to convince us the change is better.

FWIW, I never liked the Infinity Engine's imprecision. Nothing like casting Fireball only to have everyone in wildly different positions when it pops off.

If there's one thing Larian is notoriously shit at, it was world-building.

The Divinity series attests to that. (Just try to square DOS1 and DOS2, and with the mainline Divinity series.)

You can't even square DOS2 with itself. The Seven created the races out of Source they could consume their Source when they die, what?

i hope that 50 years in the future, along with Michaelangelo and Da Vinci, we have balldo's gate 3. the way these 2 monsters have raging buttsex really speaks to how society suppresses homosexuality.

By the way, the audacity of Larian to pretend like they live in a world where people playing this game don't expect this kind of shit to be thrown into their faces.

Sorry, but you're dealing with a culture that's currently being exposed to this degeneracy on a regular basis. You're not shocking anyone, Larian.

what makes me laugh is the people who defend all this shit. "what? as someone that's for freedom of speech doesn't like watching a man have sex with a bear? it's supposed to be art"

yeah sure, keep jacking off to your unity assets

The fact that the game doesn't even involve the Bhaalspawn was enough to convince me how underhanded the title was.

Someone said there's a hint in the trailer, that the symbols floating around when the Dark Urge is displayed were Bhaal symbols. So there's speculation that there's a link to the Bhaalspawn Saga revealed somewhere later in the game. But I don't think anyone has confirmed more than that, so who knows.

Again, I'm not interested in digging through reddit writing to get to a potential gem. I don't have 200 hours of free time to blow on a gamble that they have something interesting to add. If it gets glowing reviews from non-pozzed places, maybe I'll put it in the backlog.

But I've only played through BG2 once, right now I'm more likely to sink my time into a new run there.

Just look at 90% of Skyrim mods. Ain't no way your hideous ogre sex is going to be perceived as exceptional or inventive in a world where I can download a voluptuous floppy titty anime babe for free.

The internet has thousands of fetish sites where people can freely engage in their unique proclivities without game development providing their own.

you know what they say

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a coomer"

I don't know how I should feel about that. Hordes of the Underdark managed to tie the events of Neverwinter Nights through its companions, but Larion's tie-ins seem far more distant.

What I mean is, for all the evil Aribeth does in Neverwinter Nights, Hordes at least gives her some semblance of redemption.

BG3 seems completely isolated from what the devs were doing with BG1 and 2.

Considering they have all kinds of metrics and that I've seen news about how the most popular MC was a basic white dude or that 95% of kickstart was male, they know, deep down who their core audience is.
They know deep down who their is audience and they don't like it. I don't know if it is WotC or Larian but they don't want white, straight male nerds as their audience anymore. To be fair to Larian I haven't seen anything from their past that would be indicative of them hating their audience but with WotC you can. Many WotC employees have talked about how they don't want "cis white dudes" as their audience anymore and have stated; "The sooner they leave the hobby the better."
Now it is very possible that a lot of the questionable shit Larian added, as well as the whining over 90% of their player base playing straight white male fighters, came from WotC. One must remember that Larian is just the developer. WotC is the one who more or less owns the Baldur's Gate series and probably have a lot of influence over the creative direction of the game.

I knew when this wasn't going to be isometric and RTWP that it wasn't going to be Baldur's Gate in any meaningful way. And every announcement since then has just confirmed that. Fuck this, I'm going back to 1998

Gawd, how tragic is that?

I imagine these fags think themselves the self-righteousness Anna Kasperian "better than you" types who are just using the only semblance of purpose and meaning left in these empty franchises to promote their own ideology.

Sorry, but no dice (no pun intended).

Long have we departed the days where romancing Vinconia DeVir and living happily ever after with her was the peak gaming experience.

You have to understand where WotC comes from. @Estate stated he has been to where Larian is located and says that it isn't bad all things considered. I, however, have been to Seattle and I think I can paint a picture of the type of people who work at WotC. Seattle is a shit hole. The people there believe that they are the center of the Earth and believe that people living outside of metro areas have something mentally wrong with them. Go to an average Seattle residents Twitter and it is almost a clone of Movie Bob's where they bemoan rural voters for not voting for the crap they vote for saying; "How dare those uneducated losers put themselves before me and the greater good!" These are people who are drunk on every single woke Left wing talking point that has come out in the past decade. WotC is full of these kinds of people. Even if Larian isn't woke and just took a job because they love the Baldur's Gate series they were going to be screwed either way as WotC is the Alpha and Omega when it comes to the creative direction for this game.

Also, something else I wanted to bring up that maybe indicative of WotC influence on Larian. Larian talked about how romance wasn't really their thing and that it was kind of new ground for them. However, WotC recent crap for D&D is filled to the brim with shit about prom, dating and romance. Again, all this shit maybe WotC influencing Larian in the direction for Baldur's Gate 3.

As always, a delight to gain new knowledge into these matters thanks to you, who are ever keen and alert to these things. You ARE the essence of KF, and I am eternally gratful for your insight.

I completely agree that its pointless to give BG3 a chance, from what ive seen from larian they are completely focusing on shitty romance and sex stuff, ive heard more about sex and dicks from them than anything about gameplay. The few things they mentioned about the actual gameplay ive seen have been them making the level cap twelve and them trying to make it so you cant even build the way you want.
