This is actually a big deal in the food handling training. Not following food safety guidelines can and absolutely will make people sick. Our training instructor told us a story about an improperly managed deli, and how a pregnant woman lost her pregnancy because of unclean food handling procedure. He told us it was not hypothetical.
One of the GROSSEST tests in food handling training was the white flour test. We were told to show up to work fresh and clean. We changed into our uniforms and the trainer had us put our hands in white flour before doing tasks in a sterilized (no food) kitchen. We were specifically told not to wash our hands or change gloves. (prior to common thought, it's better to have clean, dry hands than constantly be changing gloves, which customers DEMAND.)
We just simulated the working day, running the slicer, opening and closing the cold case, servicing the equipment, general shit.
At the end of the test, which was around 15-20 minutes, he lined us up. So many people had white asses. As a non-ass scratcher, I was one of the few people without a white ass. Two people were outright failed, the trainer called them ass pickers. The uniform was shitty scratchy grey polo, Black brand label ballcap, black dickies, and an apron. He actually grilled me for not having flour anywhere on me, and I pointed out I just put my hands on the apron. He said that wasn't good either, but did not fail me.
I always think it was weird how thorough and in-depth the training was, the actual job was a shitshow of health code violations.
I'm guessing these reddit faggots have never so much as gone through that training, or they'd know spitting in food is a fucking movie thing and would likely see their ass kicked if a coworker caught them.
