It's called being a mentally ill autist with limited work abilities.

At this point if I wanted to drive again I'd also have to take driving lessons, which is more shit I can't afford. I only ever learned to drive in the first place because friends taught me in my early 20s, which is another issue. Not everyone is even able to learn to drive in the first place, since not everyone has parents able or willing to teach them and relying on friends can be a crapshoot. Strict car dependence comes with a lot of legit issues, whether you want to accept it or not.
I could take a bus if I needed to; unfortunately that wouldn't work with my job, both the time and dragging my tools around. I'm not getting that shit stolen.

As for being too disabled to drive; bullshit. Even if you're in a wheelchair, you can rig up hand controls to the steering wheel to drive. And you've even said you have and passed the test once before. You did that.
It is though. Unless you want to pay for it. I can't afford a couple hundred-thousand bucks every single month.

Not all of us can afford a car, especially with the cost of living continuing to rise exponentially. The idea of everyone being required to be paypigs for car/oil/insurance/etc companies is a bit fucked as well. Thems the breaks.
I am not paying hundreds a month for my car. My gets 19 to the gallon in sky high gas prices Utah and I'm still not paying 100 a month in gas, and that's with a big 6 cylinder. And you don't have to be a paypig for oil or brakes. Oil is easy as shit to do on your own, takes a hour. You have YouTube, look it up for your car. And do research on your car with all the resources the internet can provide, heck even magazine articles. Not out of reach if you're determined

Even the car itself is out of reach lmao, I don't have 2000 bux (not that a decent used car would be that cheap).

Between boomers loosing the ability to drive with age and more people being unable to afford something as expensive as a car (and many not being able to learn how to drive in the first place, since it's not like free driving classes are a thing even in car-dependent areas), I think there are going to be some real problems in car dependant areas in the coming decades. Pretending those issues don't exist isn't going to make them go away.

There's this thing called saving money.

You need to have some sort of income, yes. But it doesn't need to be much. You can work at Walmart and own a car- many do in fact. You dont need free classes if you learn in HS or have a Job. Which is a very high bar to not have a job. You can be missing a arm and work at a grocery store, and legally they cant deny you. I don't see how Boomers getting old is a issue, their kids can drive them around.

I found out the hard way I can't work in grocery stores or any similar sensory hellzones. Walmart is a no-go, even shopping there is difficult and something I can only do if I limit how much time I'm in the store.

Being able to afford a car is a privilege not everyone has. Cars can be great but they shouldn't be the only option, especially not with boomers continuing to age and inevitably loose their ability to drive at some point (not all have kids who are able or willing to be their unpaid chauffeurs. Are you?).

You can learn to overcome it. And it doesn't have to be a gas station. Dont you have any hobbies? With how many Gundam i build, if i painted them, i could sell them for a bit. Do something like that. Make money. Use the internet.

Just because there should be buses doesn't mean it should be the first choice. If a poor teenager working at McDonald's can own and maintain a car, anyone can.

especially with aforementioned aging boomers who will inevitably start loosing the ability to drive living in completely car-dependent areas.

Even in conservative Idaho,, seniors in urban areas are provided with transport.

Except people unable to work at McDicks because it's a shitty sensory hell job and people unable to learn to drive in the first place.

Plus roads can only be widened so much to deal with traffic. If people are gonna keep moving here, there has to be a different solution to that shit in the longterm.

All that pavement isn't exactly fun in the summer either (which lasts half the year where I'm at).

Point is, there are some legit issues with car dependence and people unable to have cars for whatever reason.

I've worked fast food; sucks for everyone, everyone is getting overloaded, not just you. And you HAVE learned to drive before. Just do it again. Haven't ridden a bike in a while, but I still have mine and I bet I could in a hour or less.

Pavement gets hot. Alright. Walking on uneven gravel or dirt sucks too. Concrete is a miracle material that weve only just relearned since the romans. As for widening roads, good design can compensate and help direct the flow better. Thats what engineers are for.

That was your choice to move to a hot bug hive that doesn't give a shit about old and disabled people. I can tell you in my neck of the woods, we have similar programs

I was 6 so no, wasn't exactly my choice. I remember being pretty unhappy about that choice actually.

Fast food sucks for everyone but some of us have sensory issues that mean those jobs are neverending meltdowns and stress-induced psychosis. It's like telling someone in a wheelchair to just work construction. In fact, I strongly suspect the sensory unfriendly nature of starter jobs is a big factor in why most autists are unemployed.
Only Atlanta proper itself (which is getting more expensive by the day), and you have to call a day ahead for that shit and pray it arrives on time since I've heard of those vans being hours late (to the point of working disabled people being threatened with getting fired because they keep being late because the vans can't get there anywhere near on time).

How the fuck are you supposed to ride a bus if you cant even buy shit at a Walmart without having a breakdown? People are on busses, they make noise too, and the bus moves, and bumps, and there's shit outside passing by. It really just sounds to me like your making shit up because you dont want to do any work and have other people drive you around all the time, especially since you said you knew how to drive before. I'm retarded and mentally ill too, but I don't cry whenever somebody asks me if they can get past me for a moment to grab some cheese. Get therapy or meds or some shit if you literally cant even stand there and swipe objects over a laser with music playing.

Yeah, there should be public transport options, but even when there is, its still on the road, theres still traffic. Making more busses means more longer vehicles on the road, ones that take longer to accelerate and slow, and make more frequent stops. It wont fix traffic.

Trains aren't on the road, and expanding them would be a godsend in Metro Atlanta. Especially since no one enjoys driving or trying to find parking in downtown Atlanta.

But you're a adult. Who can get a car and earn money. Leave to the cheap boonies.

Starter jobs always suck. You toughen up, earn that bread and get through it for a few months. Then move onto the next thing. Working a grocery store or gas station isn't construction, not close.

This is why having a car and not relying on the system is important

Don't trains cost more to ride? I have no objections to having the trains, but it doesn't sound like the big fix you seem to think it is. Trains can have a lot more people on them, a plus for efficiency, as more people can get where they need to go in less trips. But then people with issues like yours cant ride them because there is too many people (since you cant be in a Walmart without having a panic attack). And they cant bring you as close to where you need to be, so you still have to walk more, so disabled and old people have to deal with their wheelchairs and hip problems for longer. They also run on schedules, so your work hours will have to work around when the trains get to where you need to be. There is no good solution to anything related to getting where you need to be, everything will have its problems, we just have to learn how to deal with that shit instead of going in circles of changing each form of travel because the previous one wasn't as good as teleportation would be.

Or you stop forcing disabled people who are incapable of doing certain jobs to do those jobs and don't have piss-poor infrastructure while wasting billions of dollars on unnecessary sport ball stadiums and never-ending road widening (which does nothing to help traffic congestion).

Moving to another state costs way more money than I have, and also requires transportation I do not have.

Public transit is necessary no matter how much us spooky scary poor people freak you out. Cars should not be the only transportation available for a variety of reasons.

disabled people
I have a feeling you're not disabled, you're just unable to deal with the "sensory overload" of having a boss overlording over you and 50IQ rednecks being normie busy bees around you. Add serving some entitled clients and it's hell.
I fully understand and I'm with you here.
You should try scoring a job where you're your own boss while you still can. I know it was my focus for years, and being in a hospital with some fat chick telling me what to do was pure hell, and being alone for hours in a tiny room during the pandemic, watching nice xrays from afar while shitposting online was bliss.

Everyone has problems and issues. It isn't the duty of the state to take care of you. That's your job. And if you aren't working, you aren't paying taxes that could go to infrastructure. You could become a engineer and figure out a more effective road layout to prevent congestion. That's a pretty lonely job, much of which you can learn on your own. Mostly it's just working in CAD all day. You can't do that?

Save the pennies you get, get a car and a place to stay. Done.

Public transit is nessicary. Just as cars are. You shouldn't want to keep riding the bus, you should upgrade eventually.

Your complaining about even stepping inside a Walmart and thinking trains are the panacea to all your problems seems there will never be a solution to solve your supposed problems. You really seem to enjoy complaining instead of trying to find solutions. That means you have the incel mindset and therefore I laugh.

There’s nothing to fear about poor people, merely disappointment: it’s your own fault you’re poor.
