I could take a bus if I needed to; unfortunately that wouldn't work with my job, both the time and dragging my tools around. I'm not getting that shit stolen. It's called being a mentally ill autist with limited work abilities.
At this point if I wanted to drive again I'd also have to take driving lessons, which is more shit I can't afford. I only ever learned to drive in the first place because friends taught me in my early 20s, which is another issue. Not everyone is even able to learn to drive in the first place, since not everyone has parents able or willing to teach them and relying on friends can be a crapshoot. Strict car dependence comes with a lot of legit issues, whether you want to accept it or not.
As for being too disabled to drive; bullshit. Even if you're in a wheelchair, you can rig up hand controls to the steering wheel to drive. And you've even said you have and passed the test once before. You did that.
I am not paying hundreds a month for my car. My gets 19 to the gallon in sky high gas prices Utah and I'm still not paying 100 a month in gas, and that's with a big 6 cylinder. And you don't have to be a paypig for oil or brakes. Oil is easy as shit to do on your own, takes a hour. You have YouTube, look it up for your car. And do research on your car with all the resources the internet can provide, heck even magazine articles. Not out of reach if you're determinedIt is though. Unless you want to pay for it. I can't afford a couple hundred-thousand bucks every single month.
Not all of us can afford a car, especially with the cost of living continuing to rise exponentially. The idea of everyone being required to be paypigs for car/oil/insurance/etc companies is a bit fucked as well. Thems the breaks.
