I don't remember the exact job title, but he works in the patent department for a pharmaceutical company. He has a PhD in (Bacterial) Genetics and makes good money apparently. I think @AnOminous explained way back that what Frank does is a well payd job.

GamerGate was pretty much destined to be dead after no time flat.

The people that genuinely cared about the "ethics in game journalism" ( ) part have long since abandoned ship. The ones that pretend they are still inetrested in the ethics stuff are really only there because GamerGate has somehow grafted themselves to their lives and they're fine with that but aren't actively doing anything in the "movement".

The anti side is just as dead. The only ones left there are the die-hard SJW defenders that still give their money to dangerhairs.

Who's really thriving are the people from both sides that enjoy watching the drama or even causing it, and people that look in from the outside.

No, the pro side's still around, it's just stopped the activist shit because it did what it set out to do. All the original writers in the Gamers are Dead barrage have been forced to leave in disgrace, the FTC enforced disclosure agreements for native advertisements, IGF and Indiefund have been exposed, thousands of dollars were raised for charity, DiGRA's disgraced, many Antis blew up their careers because opposition to GG was more important than breathing, and we had the glory that was William Shatner explaining why Gamergate happening was an inevitability. Good times.

The activist side of things ended almost a year ago though. The rest of GG that still exists as you know it are watchdogging, keeping an eye on trends and such in case the beast rises again. Rest assured that if it does the Internet Autism Machine will be awoken from its slumber and madness will once again flow. The spergier GG supporters eventually got themselves ostracized and mocked (Hi Samuel Cuckingwood Smith), both by other GG supporters and us for good measure, so there's surprisingly little of the type of bullshit we usually cover, save from the usual suspects (Homer, for example). It's not that it doesn't happen, it's just that Anti-GG was always the one waist-deep in illegality and the sort of people who think they have the right to dictate what others can say and do.

On the Anti side, however, a very interesting thing happened. Many of them, including Wu, chained their careers to Gamergate in an attempt to ride victimhood perpetually. Unfortunately as we saw some time ago, whilst the threshold for professional victim tolerance is vast, it isn't infinite, and eventually this leads to a tapering effect. And with GG essentially "dead" now... Well, a lot of them are finding their pool of asspats drying up pretty quickly.

In essence, the only people still talking about Gamergate now are the people who got absolutely reamed by it, and it shows. On KIA there's scarcely a mention, even GGHQ barely touches upon the hashtag itself, but you will see 24-7 bitching about a hashtag that sees maybe 1% of the traffic it did in full swing as if it were still an active threat. This is mostly because despite being backed by the mainstream press and more money than god, they managed to - mostly through their own stupidity - get their shit punched in by a bunch of spergy gamers on the internet.

That will never stop being funny. Ever.

I occasionally lurk at KiA, and they hardly talk about Gamergate in itself anymore, and now it's mostly discussions about censorship in video games, the SocJus cult, the race baiters of BLM, what a flop Ghostbusters [current year] was, the death of Gawker and how sweet Nick Denton's tears taste, and the latest 'tarded thing Polygon/Kotaku did this week. Once in awhile they'll be a mention of anti-gamergaters like Nick "pedobutts" Nyberg, Quinn, or Wu, but only when they do something especially spergy - like when Chelsea went full blown autistic over a joke in the upcoming Paper Mario game.

And the only way they could have earned it before the standards at Twitter became a joke was to actually be someone important, as Geth explained in his article, so when Twitter dropped the standards so any jackass who attention whored long enough regardless how important they really are can get it, they finally got within striking distance of something they couldn't earn on anything resembling ACTUAL merit.

They basically wanted that checkmark so they could attention whore even more, but Twitter's own rules (in a rare case of being fairly explicit for once) were slapping their egos in the face constantly, so when Twitter finally gave them a shot at getting it, they jerked themselves raw at the thought people might finally mistake them as someone who actually became important for actual reasons besides attention whoring.
